I'd also like to point out that with this interview I've taken more than quarter of a hundred interviews!
1. Greetings, president of Latvia
1. Hello.
2. You've been playing e-sim from the start... How did you come across the game and when did you go into politics (when did you first win the presidential elections)?
2. Yes, i have been playing from almost day one. I think i came across the game while playing eRep back in the old days and one of the guys
Lazdas posted a link to the game, i decided to join since the game had just started and i would have as good a chance as everyone else. I started to go into politics at around the second or third month playing. Shortly after Bunkurs 13 was formed. Since i was and still am the press director for the military unit i made a lot of articles and i think people started to recognize me and i had a chance to candidate for congress - and i did. Then one thing lead to another and after a while i was a party leader and in January 2012 i ''won'' my first presidential elections... Wasn't actually a win. I drew and won because i had more xp than the other guy. But still, got impeached in less then 24 hours i think.
3. Latvia is not a very powerful country but you are extremely productive... How come?
3. Well i would say that Latvians are just very hard working and stuff, but i guess the main reason is Latgalia - i think the second richest region in e-sim. It has over 800 companies. And of course right now we hold our south neighbors Lithuanias most valuable region Samogitia, not as good as Latgale but still okay.
4. You've got a military affair against Lithuania - what's the story behind that and have you got any other wars going on atm?
4. The story is very long, i think we have been in war with them since the very begining of the game. The reason is very simple - they want Latgale. We have been in periods when we're in the same alliance and in peace, and ''friends'', but you can't be a true friend if you keep us occupied. So the war has gone on, Latvians are true fighters and we won't be happy untill our land is free. In the latest months the situation has flipped around. Lithuania was comming to Latvia to ask for peace, but that wasn't an option for us. We wanted payback and now we got it. Lithuanias flag is no longer visible in the world map. Right now we are in war with Russia, but it isn't a serious one. We're just taking their part of Lithuania, so there's less problems.
5. And what other countries are in the "alliance" of payback to Lithuania (and former G7)?
5. Well the ones with the biggest vengeance in my opinion are Sweden, Romania, Ukraine. But there are many more that want a piece of Lithuania. Almost everyone in the alliance of Winter is Coming and The Spectres.
6. What do you count as the biggest successes and failures of your leadership?
6. There are two big successes in my time as a president of Latvia. The first one would be getting Latvia free from the occupation of Lithuania. The second - Occupation of Lithuania. I think those are the things that will be remembered the most. And oh, also created a newbie boost program which i hope will stay active for a long, long time [ Shoutout to Sweden ]. And the biggest failure? Well maybe not starting up a support program for local Latvian military units since we have quite an income from Latgalia, but we are working on it right now. The other thing maybe is the lack of articles and explaining the situation to all the not so active players.
7. A bit personal question for me - Why is Latvia PTOing Australia?
7. Well it started back when Latvia still wasn't free and a lot of players didn't see any hope. They thought it was a little bit too boring in Latvia so they decided to move to another country and try to make it a Latvian colony. I guess they chose Australia because they had a very low population and it made it easier. So every month more and more players went there until they controlled most of the congress and later - winning the presidential elections. Haven't been there myself, but right now that's a project we hold back and don't really focus on too much. Latvia is and always will be the main priority.
8. Do you or have you had any other notable positions other than the CP seat?
8. Yes, of course. Right now im the vSC of WiC for the second month. And i have also been MoFA and MoD of Latvia many, many times. But i'm very proud to be vSC of an alliance of this size, not many Latvians have been in this position.
9. And what does the job of the vSC of WiC consist of?
9. Coordinating damage, setting priorities, organizing meetings and other things.

About the game:
USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
