This time it's something different. I picked up (from a street) a totally random guy that I have never met or heard of and started questioning him. I had a running bet with a British nobleman for 1 US Dollar, that I could make a decent human being out of that poor homeless person. Well, I lost!!! When I had finished with my magic, he had become a GO, very far from a human being!
1. Hello! Who am I talking to? 1. Hey, I'm MatthijsM , one of the Game Operators who tries to keep the game a fair place.
3. You're one of the Game Operators who try to keep the game a fair place, right? 3. Yes, We try to do that.
4. So what exactly do you do? What are your GO rights and what kind of problems do you solve day-to-day? 4. I can't tell you anything about the tools we use but I can tell you that our job is hard. Many people have complains about the staff but I think that they should not complain before they saw what kind of work we do. We help the players who report things that happened in the game what they think is violating the rules.
We also help people who come to ask us questions in the support channel.
5. Well, I guess this is your chance to let people know more of the work you do. Just say what's in your heart. What are the hardest things you have to do every day or have done? 5. I always liked my job as a game operator but I think the players should think about us too. We do this work for free we don't ask anything for our time and we help e-sim to grow. What I would like to see is players who respect our work. I understand that you can have problems with our work just come and state them to us but always keep polite. We are still human beings. Also banning people is not something we do for fun. We only do this when you violate the rules in a very bad way.
6. Do you have anyone that's a real pain in the ass and just complaining/harrashing all the time? (And do not say Orlandio) 6. I do not want to answer this question. I don't like to insult or hurt people.
7. I understand that after the WW you have full hands? Server is lagging because of it, Tickets are out of memory space, Tournament medals went to very random people (not for the winning side only, as planned). How do you cope with all that? 7. Well I'm having a hard time right now. People are spamming a lot in the channels of the IRC. The only thing a normal Game Operator like me can do with this kind of situations is to keep the people calm and ask them to be patient. I don't like situations like this but it is part of the job.
8. And do you have ideas how to fix all this? What do you personally think of my recent idea ? 8. I think that is not a way of handling. In my opinion everyone should be patient and just play the game now. Railman and his crew will work on it as fast as possible. Also I don't think giving presents to solve problems is the right way.
9. Oh well, what do you know! I heard you were leaving the game anyways. Is there any truth to that rumor that absolutely EVERYONE is talking about these days? I don't think many people know that yet but it is true. I want to leave the game to continue my life. I will keep playing 2 more week but then I will ask a ban and stop the game. I actually hope that no one follows me (won't happen most likely). I always loved the game and the community around but now it is time for me to say goodbye to all the players of e-sim.
10. That's sad, R.I.P you! What did/do you like most about this game and which people would you thank (for friendship, help whatever) here? 10. Well the list of people I want to thank is HUGE but I will keep it short and only mention 4 people. The first one is Firo Prochainzo , he is my best friend in this game we did a lot in the game we even started the Aleutian Pact and he is my best friend in this game.
I would also like to thanks iPSiArt to give me the opportunity to be a Game Operator to help the game and that was the best thing ever. The other person is Xerox he is also a good friend of me and we started a Military Unit together I would like to say thank you to him to help my beginning weeks of the staff.
The last one is Wayne Kerr , he started together with me as a GO. We had a lot of fun in the IRC and he is that one GO I would trust with 100%. Other people I would like to thank I will mention in my article that I will write soon.
I also want to say this - Tabula Rasa , my Military Unit, is the best MU you can ever imagine!
11. Do you have any questions, MatthijsM ? 11. Nope I don't have any questions. I only want to thank you for this interview.
12. You're welcome! Now get outta here, we're finished!
I guess they're are chasing some very evil orkie... well, whatever makes them happy (and they seem to be real happy doing what they do)
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
