Welcome to the II part, much more awesome part in my opinion. Let me remind you once again, that if you look beyond the length of it, it's real funny! EDIT: Since PART II is obviously getting more votes than PART I while logically they should get either the same amount of votes or (more likely), PART II should be getting less, then all I can think of it, is that people are only reading the last part. So for Part I, go HERE !
9. How many of your 300 citizens are active (not just 2-clickers), how many are original Portugese citizens and how many are PTOers or just people from foreign countries? 9. There are no PTOers anymore. And, there are probably around 10, 15 foreigners, though most of them are just here because they are part of some Portuguese MU. Now, as for active citizens out of those 300, I'd say about 50, 60 coming to the IRC frequently (at least once a week).
10. Are you an original citizen of Portugal and how did you become the CP of Portugal (twice)? 10. Of course I am an original citizen of Portugal! Well, now... how. That's a really funny question. Mostly, it's because I am considered an oldfag here. I remember when this country didn't even have an IRC channel. I remember the citizen Derp creating it and then passing the ownership to PedroHG (now a sold account who goes by the name of IRONWILL ). Being elected in March 2012 was just posting my article that included the program and team. I was running against ricardolin back then and I actually won. I was stunned to see that I was the winner of those elections, I considered myself the underdog. As for the elections of this month, I was already telling everyone I was probably running for President this month. I was expecting some competition, but sadly, no one had it in their hearts to go up against me.
11. I actually promised a friend of mine to ask you this because he tells me he'd seen you in different countries before... Have you changed your CS a lot? 11. Oh, yeah, right... I've been embarking again and again on new adventures, really. Besides being Portuguese, I've had 4 other citizenships. The first one was after my 1st term ended, I spent two weeks in Brazil. And then, for about 4, 5 months up till now, I've been on a rampage. For a good while, I was British, but after about one or two months, I got bored of the UK and went to Spain. A funny episode actually, I told them I was portuguese and they asked me "but why do you want to be spanish? This country sucks, everything works better in Portugal." And I replied them "I like spanish people." And so, they gave me the spanish cizitenship. I spent some time in Spain, but then I was called by my MU leader, JoStar07 . "Go to Colombia" he ordered me. And so, I went, embarking on another adventure, only this time, I had a mission. Apparently, JoStar07 has a crush on Colombia (don't ask me why) and he thought it was terrible to see Polish and Serbians PTOing the poor little country. So what solution did he come up with? We will PTO the Serbians and then give it to the Colombians! Another funny episode about it is when we had a Colombian CP, we forgot to plan the Congress elections and so the Serbs gained control over it. And to solve this issue, we decided to create a Civil War, which we won. However, by doing this, the native Colombians got angry at us, and so after that moment we just decided to rule Colombia until we couldn't. About a month later, new Congress elections happened and the Pinguim FLU comrade that was the CP, rubenorvalho, got impeached. I suppose these things happen. And, well... meanwhile, I decided to go back to Portugal and run for President.
12. I hereby declare the last answer as the best answer I've ever got and of course big thanks got to jij5354 for asking this question! Now on quite another topic - Who are the biggest opposition leaders in your country? Orlandio , "opposition" in my country is... hum... weird to explain. Because, it often depends on how people think of you. Because, parties are not really valid in my country... and nowadays, neither are the MU's. Most people just act individually and independent from any political or military compromise. So... opposition leaders? It's difficult to say, it has to be someone who dislikes me, or my "political" skill, in a way of speaking, and at the moment, there isn't really someone who can serve as opposition at the moment. ...Yeah, Portugal is a weird country in this aspect.
13. You've also been the GO of this game for a while... How was this experience for you? 13. It was fun. I forgot to mention, but, huh... after my first term as CP of Portugal ended, I actually became a GO, but a scandal involving a brazilian player made me quit. And, I'll admit this right here, this was the lowest point for me during the time I played this. So, for many months later, I yearned for a second chance to prove I could be a good GO, at least a decent one. And when iPSiArt became the GO, I finally had the chance for it. And that's really the main reason I joined the staff. I didn't really want to quit, but I considered the previous Portuguese Governments so bad, I actually decided to go for the CP spot and fix the country as it should be. As for the experience itself, it was wonderful. You really get a whole new point of view of the game, of the moderators and you realize that they're not the... let's say "a**-holes" they are supposed to be. For the most, they're actually pretty cool people. iPSiArt , essex , Wayne Kerr , MatthijsM (bless him), djetc ... I know I'll be missing them. And it was quite a ride I'm not regretting ever.
14. GO guys have a real hard job, I must admit that after having countless discussions with MatthijsM ... Perhaps you have a message for the people, to make them understand the difficulties of the job better? 14. The only message I can really send to the players who have argued with the mods or that had issues with them, or even got punished by them, is pretty much, be more comprehensive. It is ASSURED that you're not going to be the only one that's going to argue with them during 15 minutes, let alone an entire day. And... moderators make mistakes. They're not machines. They're people just like you and me.
15. Have The Beatles ever been to Portugal? 15. Probably, yeah. I mean, they've been everywhere. They're better than Jesus. It's true. Look it up.
16. Mark Stray , it's been a truly awesome (and long) interview with you. Thank you very much and best of luck with the Portugese matters! 16. Thank you for this interview Orlandio , it was really good speaking to you!
Actually it does need a small explanation but, well, you know how it is... there is none for them!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
