As i promised in my previous article, I would continue to publish articles on economical basics of E-sim. This is going to be the second article of financial basics of E-sim from Aurelie News Corporation. I will disclose my personal empirical experience which i hope will help you in starting a business with positive income.
So there are two larger categories of companies in E-sim - Raw material producing companies and Manufacturing companies.
Raw material companies produce iron, grain, oil, stone, wood and diamonds. Manufacturing companies produce weapons, houses, gifts, food, tickets, defence systems, hospitals and estates. These are the companies you have the possibility to choose from. Which one will you found? Well this is where a subsitantial (or perhaps a reasonable) amount of research and calculating comes into play.
First of all, the most important aspect to take into account is the (product) market - If there is no demand for a product, you may aswell have infinite amounts of something, but it just will not sell.
Anyone who has grasped the basic manufacturing process of the modern era, will know that products are made so that they decay, age, or in case of a known smartphone manufacturer, so that buying the latest edition of their phone is socially highly acceptable or even favoured (thats smart marketing right there). This is so people would buy and spend more and more. It's a neverending vicious cycle that I find depressing and upsetting (My mother-in law has a meat grinder that i saw a couple of weeks ago - it looked pristine, shiny and still in its original packaging. When i asked where she bought it, she said she doesn't remember exatly where, but she knew she bought it c.a 30 yrs ago. For 30 yrs she hasn't had the need to buy another meat grinder. For a company that produces meat grinders that's an economical tragedy!).
So here's the lesson: Produce something that you can sell over, and over, and over, and over again. To do that, you need to produce something that is consumed over, and over, and over, and over again.
The only thing sure in E-sim is war. To maintain a war one needs resources for it. And w/o exeption those resources are weapons.
*Sure thing that wars are won by soldiers (Fury from Avengers

) but weapons are the means for soldiers to do so.
Starting an iron company:
To manufacture weapons, one needs iron, so one produce to produce, which would have an almost limitless market, would be iron. So let's say you want to become an iron producer (
I also suggest producing weapons, but since weapons manufacturing requires 2x as much calculations and this is still the basics of E-sim, I will use iron producing as an example - iron producing is still quite profitable).
So how are you going to aqcuire an iron producing company? There are two possible ways to do so:
First possibility: you found one by hovering over the "My places" tab and selecting "Companies", and then going from there (selecting "Company name"; "product type" and "company avatar"

. In this case you need 20 Gold without exeption and the company will be created in your current location (
You can see your current location on the left column, right on top of your finances. I will also explain the importance of a companys location a bit down the article)
The second possibility is to buy an existing company by hovering over the "Market" tab and selecting "Companies for sale". In this case you need whatever the amount the seller wants. Usually it's less than 20 Gold. So this would seem cheaper.
Both of these possibilities are sensible, although if you buy an existing company from the "Companies for sale" tab you need to account for relocation costs (if its needed). You should relocate a company if it is not currently in a high region of iron, which, for a Q1 company, costs 2G. Here's why you would want to relocate:
In a high region of iron, if a workers productivity is e.g. 90, she/he will produce the exact amount of produce that is her or his productivity. In a company that is in a "Medium iron" region, the productivity of a worker will be down to 75% of what would be the workers productivity in a high region. So in a high region of iron, he or she (
or you in fact) will produce more products
The second criteria to take into account is whether the country who controls the High Region iron, also controls the corresponding original countrys capital. You can check this on the map - Hover over the "Country" tab, and click on "Map" - (
Play around on there, because it's really easy and would require a LOT of typing from me, and i do not feel like taking on some extra work). For example - China has occupied Finland's High Iron region (
Eastern Finland). But for a company in that region not to have 75% production, China would have to control Finlands capital aswell. This analogy is true and may be used everywhere.
If you have found
many possible regions for your company to be in, it is wise to additionally account for wars, the amount of citizens, competition etc (
If someone feels that they need an explenation on this, please let me know in the comments below).
So lets say you have made your choice on location of your iron company, and your company is set and idleing to get to work. What next?
Start producing! I would suggest that at first you work for yourself because this way you do not have to account for your employees' wages, their production etc etc. It's much simpler
You employ yourself by creating a job offer in your company and applying for it.
To do that - hover over the "My places" tab and select "Companies". This will take you to the overview of your companies. Select your iron company. There you will find the possibility to add a job offer to the job market. I would suggest you set all the parameters to 1, so that noone would snap that job offer from you.
On the bottom-left of your companys page, you will find that job offer. After clicking "Apply" you will become an employee of your company

(
You still remain the owner of your company, don't fret)
When you're going to sell you products, please refer to Aurele News Corporations first article on the financial basics of E-sim. There i explain how to sell products and what to take into account on the example on one bread. In this, iron producing companys example, the only difference is that you no longer need to purchase products - you have produced them yourself
