Recently, Ronald Reagan posted his campaign article.

One of the main planks of his platform he has stated as being combating corruption; the main trust of which will be to name Pfeiffer as having been on the receiving end of an Admin fine for misappropriation of funds. I find this more than a bit amusing in a way that I think only Pfeiffer can truly appreciate the same as I.

You see, far from some state secret, Pfeiffer was already crucified by an up-and-coming politician for these actions and lost a Presidential bid in the aftermath of it.

The up-and-coming politician was me.

As stated previously, this is and has been a matter of public knowledge and you can actually still read my article revealing it to the public: [DerpyHooves for CP] - Better Late than Never

At the time of writing, Pfeiffer was quite understandably busy with his Grandmother being extremely ill, at the time. As such, he was mostly unable to respond until well after public outcry had reached a crescendo. By the time he did, the vote on his impeachment had nearly concluded already.

So, I thought I might share some of what happened and what time and the perspective that accompanies it has to offer.

I have known Pfeiffer for many years, well before we ever played eSim. No one who knows either of us very well would say we've ever gotten along. Rather, we have mostly learned to tolerate each other in small doses and do our best to ignore each other. Pfeiffer and I have drastically contrasting characters, in such a way that it seems unlikely we can ever reconcile our innate differences. If I were to use an analogy; imagine a game of Dungeons and Dragons with a Rogue and Paladin in the party. That is how we get along; Pfeiffer being the Paladin and myself being the Rogue.

After a struggle for control of Top Gun and my finally getting fed up, passing Leadership to Pfeiffer, I made a run for President with Pfeiffer as the incumbent as a good-natured and less than subtle 'f*** you '. While he was less than pleased, I was hardly serious about my run and had nothing to lose so I didn't really care.

It was the next day that Liquid HOMICIDE along with an assortment of Pfeiffer's cabinet came to me with suspicious logs of his transactions on from the Org, which ran in violation of established rules at the time and, perhaps more importantly, rules that he himself had written and worked to establish.

Pfeiffer was impeached on this evidence, without opportunity to offer his testimony and hours later I narrowly defeated him in the election.

What is important and was missed, at the time, was that the transactions in question were not for Pfeiffer's direct personal gain, but for a number of Q5 Weapons and the purchase of a Portugese Mercenary group. While these were, at the time, a violation of Congressional over-sight and, again at the time, we as a nation were not in favor of spending on Mercenaries, both are quite common place today.

The former, known as an Emergency Funds Request, allows the CP to withdraw a moderate sum from the Org for immediate spending on the condition Congress be immediately alerted of said spending and the reasons regarding it, for the request to be voted upon by Congress post-facto. (If you are curious, if the President's Emergency Funding Request were ever to be denied, the weekly budgetary disbursement would be with-held until such time as the amount withdrawn from said unapproved request was 'repaid' in said withholding. This has never happened, however.) This is in fact, so common, that during my last term, while fighting Spain, France and Taiwan to secure our borders congress amended an Emergency Funding Bill I proposed to be valid for unlimited funding for the war effort (though this probably says more of the implicit trust Americans have in me, than anything.)

Soon afterwards, Pfeiffer was fined for the amount of the transactions. He was able to pay off his debt, with the help of some generous donations by his friends, and was even re-elected as President the next month.

I recall saying somewhere, perhaps on IRC, at the time that I felt the actions from the Admin staff were perhaps not justified, as his spending was still in keeping with what qualifies as in the national interest. I felt, and still feel, that it did not qualify as a 'theft' and rather was a matter of breaching Congressional oversight rules and, thusly, the judgment of Congress was enough to rectify the situation.

In the end, however, it was not my place to decide such things and the result was that Pfeiffer was forced to finance the spending in question out of his own pocket, to the tune of about 800 Gold, if memory serves.

I am telling you these things to neither condemn or defend Pfeiffer. He is a big boy and can stick up for himself.

I am telling you these things, because everyone who has been around long enough already knows them. If you did not, it is not because anyone was hiding it from you, but because it was not relevant. Pfeiffer suffered a hard political defeat at the hands of one of the last people he would have wanted to and then paid a 800+ Gold fine, to boot. His debt is satisfied and he has only rendered honorable service to this country since then.

If I had to pick out Pfeiffer's mistake, here, it was not the spending or the disregard for Congressional oversight, but doing so at a time when he had pissed off just about every political figure in the country. Were that not the case, I think everyone might have just let it slide with a warning.

Oh well, such are the trials and tribulations of a new Country, struggling to find itself.

with the history lesson over, I will speak a bit to the matter of Law and, specifically, his promised 'Presidential Accountability Order'

The President does not, neither by in game mechanics or meta-game law have the authority to strip any elected official of their status. The President, assuming the authority to unilaterally remove a member of Congress at his sole digression, would represent a conflict of interest. The Congress governs and is accountable to itself and the American people. If any President does not personally approve of any member of Congress, his only recourse is to prevail on the American people not to vote for him.

I find it highly troubling that a serious candidate contending for this countries highest office would believe their sole judgment to be above that of the general will of the American people.

And, while I'm on the subject, I also find it troubling that a Presidential candidate would seek to dredge up a known and resolved issue in attempt to make himself seem credible without actually having done anything nor the authority or even the ability to do what he is proposing.

Ronald Reagan, for all your talk of engagement and re-energizing America, I cannot help but notice you have failed to deliver in any capacity in the measure of what we are most desperately in need of; damage. We have enough Elite Military Units to service every active citizen, we did not need a Novice one. We need people on IRC, ready to accept the wealth of our economic strength and deliver that in support of our allies, not a flock of untested Congressmen whom you have failed to educate on established Congressional procedure.

I hope you do not take this criticism too harshly, but as the most successful President, I feel obligated to inform you of such things and to say that, if you were ready for the office you seek, you would know them already.

Love,

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
