Before anything else, lemme introduce myself first. I am
jansuing , ePhilippines' two-time CP from October 2013 to November 2013 and revered as the only Filipino president who didn't have to become a congressman. People in Primera also know me for my controversial articles on the foreign policies of great powers in Primera, which have spurred debates in the media and the highest levels of government.
Speaking of great powers, this article is about Vietnam and its apparent potential to become Asia's greatest nation after its recent population boom. But aside from that, I will also tackle the potential roles Vietnam could play on the power interplay within the Asian region and on the international level as well. Aside from this, I will also explore the opportunities and threats to Vietnam. Here goes!
Emergence of a new Asian dragon
With more than 2,000 players, Vietnam's rise can be compared to that of China, a country that currently enjoys the benefits of its population boom months ago. If Vietnam could follow China's miracle story, it can give the latter a run for its money. Here are some important facts that Hanoi must always be wary of to make sure the protection of its national interests:
- Vietnam’s rise is a boon for China geopolitically. The emergence of Vietnam has really disconcerted the balance of power in the Asian region which traditionally has always been in control of China, the Philippines and Indonesia.
- The emergence of Vietnam is the first real threat on Beijing in a very long time. China's foreign policy has always been that of an expansionist state. Now that Vietnam has become a powerful force, China's expansionistic dream of making it to Europe might be put in jeopardy since another threat is now knocking on its door. The Vietnamese challenge is also the reason why Beijing decided to partner with Poland.
- Vietnam's opportunity to expand its territory are slim as of the moment as powerful Asian states the Philippines, China and Indonesia control most of the Asian region. Vietnam will not be able to expand its territory without going to war with any of these countries.
- The high power saturation in Asia will prove to be phenomenon worth watching out for. Trust me on this, with Vietnam's potential rise and its natural inclination to resist Beijing, Asia has never been so unstable it might just be the next theater for a great war.
A silver lining
While expanding its territory will prove to be a great challenge for Vietnam, it is not without opportunities that it could exploit to realize its potentials.
- Thailand is currently the easiest target for Vietnam if it wants to expand its territories. Although Thailand is currently under Malaysia which is supported by the Philippines, ePH's plate is already full and its support for Malaysia in the event Vietnam invades it will just be minimal.
- Remember that Malaysia has always wanted to invade Vietnam. I say you strike first before they can organize themselves and move. Also, take note that Malaysia is friends with China and the Philippines and they might use this close ties to help them invade Vietnam.
- If Vietnam can successfully takes over Thailand, this will give him a gateway to expand to the west. But when that happens though, it will have Indonesia as its rival. Therefore, although the opportunities are clear, Vietnam has to move with caution.
- These are some of the things Vietnam must do: (1) Strengthen your players and make sure population won't shrink. (2) Make strategic allies (like Turkey for example due to your common perception of China as a threat). You're currently the star of Primera. A lot of countries would love to have you as a partner. (3) Be a part of an alliance but always remember, (4) allying with China is the easiest way to kill the Vietnamese potentials.
Lurking enemies and threats
- China is your biggest threat.
- China has a lot to lose while you don't. Take advantage of this. You have the upperhand.
- Don't worry about Poland. Poland is notorious for being an unreliable and flaky ally. Ask Lithuania and US.
- Again, let me reiterate: the key is to STRENGTHEN YOUR PLAYERS and make sure they don't get bored. The fastest way to do this is to engage in a war and like I said, Thailand under Malaysia is the easiest target.
- Also, good government programs for your people and a stable economy so prices will continue to be stable will also help make it easy for you to become stronger. Always remember, the goal is to make prices as cheap as possible so players will have an easy time to level up.
- Political stablity within Vietnam is an imperative. You guys cannot win wars if you, yourselves, cannot settle your differences.
I'm so sorry for this very long article, dear Vietnamese friends. I will be keeping an eye on Vietnam to see which roads you will take. I say your emergence will truly make the Asian region a more interesting place to oversee and I really wish you all the best.

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
