Another congressional election has ended. The votes have been tallied, the results have been posted, and the winners have been declared. Honestly, I did not like the results of the elections in my country (e-Philippines), even now. I am a little bit disappointed. I hardly see some of the winners playing in e-Sim (not even a shout for the last 7 days for a selected few (except for the campaign shouts of course)). Others have become 2-clickers. They just work, train and leave. A few of them have little, if not none, experience at all.
What am I trying to say here? The congress has played (is playing, and will play) a very big role in terms of developing and strengthening a country. The members of the congress make law proposals that will definitely alter the course of a nation either to its glory or to its dismay. And in order for the country to be politically strong, aside from the Country President, we need to have a congress that is reliable, approachable and trustworthy (among other traits that will not be enumerated here).
Becoming a congress member is one thing. Being like one when you're at it is another. Being a congress member is not just about the title, status or power. So what does it take to be the BEST congress member (because for some reasons, good is not enough anymore)? Here are some of the "requirements":
1) A congress member must know most (if not everything) of what's happening in and out of his/her country.
This is where the activity of a congress member comes in. A congress member must be self-updated frequently on the different issues that are happening in and out of the country. This is one of the reasons why leaders of different political parties remove other congress aspirants from the official list. You can easily differentiate an active player form a 2-clicker by the following:
* ratio between the strength and total damage dealt of the player
Active and experienced players are the ones that are topping the charts in terms of the damage and experience. You will easily notice a 2-clicker if s/he has more than 2K strength, but has a total damage of less than 50 million.
* his/her shouts and comments
Active players have nothing to worry about in terms of the news that's spreading across the e-Sim world. New players, of course, will definitely ask questions about the game (unless they are multies of other players who are pretending to be newbies but definitely not). 2-clickers will always ask about inappropriate and sometimes, nonsense, questions that will be easily be answered if they were active during those days that they have missed. Of course, we are more than willing to help those 2-clickers to answer the inquiries, but please, be a dear and check the shouts and article sections of the game before you ask.
* IRC activity
To the most of new players, they are unable to go IRC (Internet Relay Chat) for they are leaving the game due to some certain reasons (or they are multies of some players who want to get rich easily that have reached level 7 and don't use them anymore). In the present ePH congress, you will never see 10 congress members who are in IRC.
How can a congress member be able to help the people about certain issues if he himself (she herself) is not aware of them? How can that same politician address the public about what's happening if s/he is doesn't know anything?
2) A congress member must be committed to do what is right and just.
As you read this article, two to six congress members of e-Philippines are now being suspected for creating multi accounts. The evidences are now being gathered and may be reported to the Game Operators as soon as possible (disclaimer: I don't know who are being suspected). One of them id already banned as of the moment, namely
blitzlight . As I have heard this news, I was disappointed. Does one really need to do this kind of stuff just to enter the congress? To those are being investigated, WHAT YOU SOW IS WHAT YOU REAP. If you will be banned because you made multi accounts, SO BE IT.
Another congressman,
Dot Pixis requested to the GOs to ban himself. He decided to do this due to certain personal reasons that we don't know so far. Whatever the choice you make, we will respect it fully. Good luck on your future endeavors! (based on his last comments, he claimed that he made multi accounts)
Another issue is the donation of 5 Gold to the National Treausry. Ever since ePH was born, it has been the tradition of the elected congress members to donate the 5 Gold they got from winning the polls to the National Treasury at most three days after they were declared victors. The collected gold will be spent on the military and economic aspects of the country.
To those who don't know, every time a person donates to the National Treasury, every member of the congress, plus the Country President, will be notified in-game. So if ever a congress member donates his/her 5 Gold to the Treasury, the said action will also happen. But due to some personal reasons, other congress members DO NOT DONATE their 5g to the Treasury. Some did not donate it due to inactivity or because of RL responsibilities, but others disregard this tradition and turning a blind eye on this. The result, internal conflict inside the congress. The most recent incident related to this was happened this morning and has been solved a few minutes after an announcement made at the shouts section of the game.
3) A congress member must ba a communicator, motivator, and a goal setter.
* Communicator
A congress member must be approachable whenever s/he is needed by someone, and whenever s/he speaks, it must be good; good in a way that s/he will speak the following:
a. truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth (as same as those who are taking oath in a hearing of a criminal case).
b. language that will not insult, degrade or disgust a person (cursing is one big no-no)
c. words that are straight to the point (do not fool someone by beating around the bush)
* Motivator
Inspiring others is the mark of an effective leader. The same goes for a congress member. Motivation is best done by example and guidance, not by issuing commands. Do not reckless law proposals (you do not want to end up like one ePH congress member who suffered the redline, right?).
* Goal Setter
Do you have goals to integrate your country for the better? What is your vision for your nation? Do you have any? You have decided to run for congress for a reason. If your only reason is "JUST FOR FUN", well guess what? ePH doesn't need you. Being a congress member is no easy task to have fun. If your only goal is to have a congress medal and 5 Gold , you have no right so serve the nation. A congress member must be selfless and will be for the people for s/he has been elected by them. If you are one of those persons and are already a congress member, STEP DOWN FROM YOUR POST NOW. LEAVE THE CONGRESS.
The congress has been an institution for a thriving nation. As the citizens want a country that is functioning politically well, the congress must have INTEGRITY: free of multi-minion-ers, free from those who are using invisibility cloaks, free from clowns, and free from persons who are dillydallying. We want a congress that will uphold the spirits of the people to achieve a better sovereign. We want a congress full of people that are united to create a better future of their country. We want a congress that will have those three requirements above. Quite a high standard right? But yes, it should be.
1) Be HONEST as much as possible. If you have done wrong to make the cut, ask for forgiveness (and leave the congress if you want to).
2) Be RESPECTFUL. You were voted by the people for you are the ones that they know that will respect them as they are.
3) Be CONFIDENT. A person who doesn't believe in himself/herself that he/she will do something will always accomplish nothing.
4) Be COMMITTED. By proving your commitment to your role as a congress member, you will not only earn the respect of your people, but will also instill that same hardworking energy among them. It’s important to show your commitment not only to the work at hand, but also to your promises. If you pledged something, keep your word.
5) Be an INSPIRATION. Be an example to the people by giving them hope (though indirectly). People always look up to their leaders.

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
