paranoidmelon Great to meet you Mr. President. Glad you could find the time out of your busy schedule and do this interview.

Vladimir np brah, nuts on the road, nim-nim-nim

paranoidmelon Your presidency is about half over, do you think you've improved the US in any form? And how?

Vladimir More like 25%, and yes. I made a little list in my last article about the war on Mexico and Ciia's crimes against humanity, but really, my primary accomplishment thus far has been to keep things rolling. Making arrangements beforehand to ensure the success of this Mexican campaign has also been no small task.

paranoidmelon How do you think your legacy will be compared to the former presidents? And more specifically the most recent former president ,Asuka Langley Soryu?

Vladimir I myself have a difficult time remembering presidents and their specific accomplishments. Go back more than a year, and there's a good chance they've gone inactive or nobody even knows who they are anymore. That said, I'd like to think I already had something of a legacy prior to taking this job, but it would be nice to be known as the only president to not have a Mexican campaign blow up in his face.

paranoidmelon Going back to the campaign trail the election ended up neck and neck and you beat the former president only by a handful of votes. Do you think Asuka's failing in the Ireland war cost him that victory? Or do you think people just wanted change? other?

Vladimir Well, given that Asuka had publicly stated both his support for me and his desire to take a break in the country shouts, it was rather disheartening how close the race ended up being. If he and I had not both voted for me, the result would likely have been flipped. Still, let that close result be a testament to his skill as a statesman.

Also, the Ireland war was intended specifically as a distraction for Spain and Portugal while Sweden attack France. Since we achieved victory in that conflict (resulting in the people of France electing a new president), it is not unreasonable to conclude that the Ireland war was also successful.

paranoidmelon Speaking of possible failures, I find the war with Mexico to be very similar to the war in Ireland. It just has yet to come to fruition. Do you think the risk of opening up ACTUAL American land to possible counter attack is worth the , small economic/morale/territory gains?

Vladimir Mexico has always been a threat to the USA, and will likely remain so for quite some time. The contingency of a substantial Mexican counter-attack was considered, but not viewed as even remotely possible at this juncture. We'll see what surprises time has in store for us and hopefully make sound decisions once we get there.

paranoidmelon More specifically, once you remove the weak buffer state and have a border with Spain/Portugal wouldn't we be at more of a risk than when we opened up our occupied Canadian territory?

Vladimir Well, we already have a border with Spain in Gulf of Mexico. Any gains in Mexico that expose us to dangerous new borders can be sacrificed in RWs that return the buffer between ourselves and the threat. Effective use of this strategy can make an offensive against us through Mexico expensive and intractable.

It's worth mentioning that we are not currently hostile with SpT. We're both better off ignoring each other and pursuing other avenues at the moment.

paranoidmelon As most of our readers know we are in the servers largest alliance and most powerful. It's almost disgusting of how unfair an advantage we have. But a lion share of that strength is just pure Polish muscle. Is there any chance for a peaceful resolution with all existing wars? Return to the Monroe Doctrine maybe?

Vladimir I wouldn't call our advantage disgusting. That adjective only starts to apply once you get >50% of daily damage. And as much as I dig a pacifist philosophy IRL, this is a war game. Every single thing one can do in this game always comes back around to war.

As for ignoring Europe/Asia, that would probably blow up in our face if we tried it. Mainly, we wouldn't have much to do. More importantly, ignoring elements in a larger system is only practical if you can afford to do so, and we just don't have the muscle. If we had Poland's numbers, countries/alliances would be much more keen to leave us alone, but as it stands, we'd be easy pickings out here alone with CA/MX.

paranoidmelon Do you see yourself running for president again?

Vladimir Perhaps. Ask me again once we're near the end of my term and we'll see how I feel.

paranoidmelon Finally, very recently the Narwhal Consortium has become the fastest growing party. Within a months time they went from 1 member to 12. From 0 congressman to 1. Doing this while still being ranked 6th. Do you see the political arena changing? Or do you see this as more as a effort with little long term gains?

Vladimir It's good to have fresh blood with a purpose, but keep in mind that one of the best features of the USA is our relative lack of internal conflict. Perhaps the spiciest rivalry we've ever had has simply resulted in more American damage. About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
