Firstly, I want to thank everyone for being so good about turning in their drops.
Honestly, I was expecting to hear at least a few complaints but not even that. It's really heartening to see us all pull together, time and again. We are one of a very few nations I've seen that does not ever turn on each other when times get hard. Our citizens and our MU's faithfully follow orders and, if we can't provide or can't afford as a Government, people always sacrifice.
I think a lot of this comes from the sense of community that we've developed through Hell on Wheels.
Old and new, rich and poor, we all fight together and we all receive, not equally but according to need and very few ever take advantage.
I have tried to argue this point with some of my counter parts in Phoenix, who prefer a meta-mercenary approach. Maybe it works better for them and maybe it's too late to change their culture. I don't know, but I know we've gained a sense of community they don't have. We don't need a 50 man Elite MU and we don't need to give them a few thousand weapons every day, because we all fight where we're needed and where we're told. Off orders. On the other side of the world. For someone we maybe don't even feel like fighting for. Because we know our role and that our role is important, even if we may not always know why or how.
I'm proud of you all.
But enough of my sappy contemplation.
I was combining some of that equipment today and I had some damn fine luck.
Seemed like a shame to sell it on auction just so some Poles and Lithuanians could have better stuff or resell it, so I had another idea.
I'm auctioning it out to the US and AP members in a closed auction. Yes, that's right. The government is demanding stuff and selling it back to you.
The rules are easy enough. I'm going to leave it open for a week. Bids can be made in comments section. I'll do my best to keep the top offer updated in the article, but check the comments for the most up to the minute bids. All items will stay open for 72 hours at least, after that any item with a standing bid and has not been outbid for 48 hours will be closed. As long as people keep bidding, items will remain up until Day Change on day 538.
After maintenance and day 539 begins, winners will be messaged and asked to send their winning amount to the Department of Defense. If payment is not received within 24 hours their bid will be considered forfeit and the next highest bidder will be contacted, so if you make a bid be *certain* you can check in and make your payment on day 539.
Minimum bids are as follows:
Dual Stat items are, obviously, of greater value. I call them Dual Stat (hold over from my Diablo II days), but this means any item that has an absorb/critical/reduce miss modifier with a second absorb/critical/reduce miss modifier. Any combination, just as long as it has two.
Dual Stat Q4 bidding starts at 30 Gold
Dual Stat Q3 bidding starts at 15 Gold
All Other Q3 bidding starts at 10 Gold
Dual Stat Q2 Bidding starts at 5 Gold
All Other Q2 bidding starts at 3 Gold
Please note the EQUIPMENT ID #, listed in the screen cap, when you make your bid. Bidding is PUBLIC ONLY, in-game and IRC messages regarding bids and other offers will be IGNORED. Only bids made in the comments section of THIS ARTICLE will be accepted. If you're outbidding someone, please do so in .5 Gold increments. I just can't be sitting here updating every minute because it went up .01 Gold. :3

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
