ArchDukeJohn is the British Patriotic Party Leader and Candidate for President of the United Kingdom, standing this month against People's Party President Tulip Farella . He has promised, that if elected, he will make alliances with unaffiliated countries and attempt to continue to fight the USA, as well as appoint newly-elected Congressman - with a controversial economic record since election - dannydan1208 as Chancellor. I interviewed him:

Aidanj99: ArchDukeJohn, thank you very much for agreeing to an interview. Let me start by asking you, can you do a better job than Tulip and how?

ArchDukeJohn: Thank you very much for having me, can I do a better job than Tulip? That's a tough one, all I could say is that whilst I've been off the e-UK she has done a wonderful job with the country. However I would try to do a better job, I would try to find a peaceful end to the wars with America and Ireland, however if that is not possible I will show them what it means to mess with e-UK. I would have Tulip in charge of diplomatic relations as I said earlier she's doing a wonderful job.

AJ99: How far would you go in dealing with the USA and Ireland? Would you go so far as a full conquest, because that seems to me to be both a risky strategy, given the international alliances these two countries hold, and also seems to be the wrong priority since we've just taken back our old lands. Surely we should be recovering and focusing on economic, domestic and social policy? If you were President would you neglect these areas in favour of war?

ADJ: No I wouldn't, and you're right, full conquests are extremely risky. I would try to negotiate a peace without much fighting and focus during my term on the economic and social aspects of our country, but I would also prepare for war with both America and Ireland and build alliances that will last.

AJ99: So just to clarify, you would outright oppose conquering either country, but instead, continuing to fight defensive wars until a deal can be reached?

ADJ: I believe that some offensive manouvers like we did in the East Coast would show that whilst we are on the defensive we will still be a threat as will our allies whilst we negotiate a peace, I would like to point out however that if our allies request help with a war I will create a poll and if there is a majority for war I will march to war.

AJ99: Would you go as far as holding a full referendum, for a more democratic and official way of gathering people's views, despite the cost?

ADJ: I would try to do the best for our country so if a referendum is necessary then, despite the cost, I will do so. Your beliefs are at the heart of everything the government must do.

AJ99: Now, in your presentation, you don't once mention your economic or social policies or ideas? What are they? Do you have any? And what is your aim for the Economy and Social Policy?

ADJ: Well, at the moment due to me only being active again since the 25th I haven't seen much of our policies but for the economic ones I would have the MoF use our resources to sell for gold , which is always useful, Whilst buying resources we don't have in abundance so we can sell them further on for higher prices. The social aspect would I believe be to continue to help new and returning players alike to get back into the game with the best possible success, this would increase our political , if they become congress members, standing as well as our militaristic strength for any wars which will I am aware will happen.

AJ99: How would you achieve that Social Policy Aim?

ADJ: Well, I would keep track of all our fellow players and if anyone joins I would message them saying Hello! Welcome to/back(returning only) to e-UK, here is a guide to getting the best out of your experience here, I would also send them some gifts and food to help them in war efforts.

AJ99: But would you attempt to bring in new players via immigration of existing players from other countries, how would you do it and how would you make sure that Britain can cope? Or would you not, and if not how do you intend to keep the country growing?

ADJ: Well, to address immigrants, yes I would attempt to bring them in, I would do so by offering them gifts and food as well as a job at a price not decided as I am trying to build up gold, I think that with 59 players that we could cope quite easily for the time being.

AJ99: So by that are you proposing that the Government should set up state-controlled and nationalised businesses with the purpose of creating jobs for immigrants?

ADJ: I am suggesting that it may be a good idea to have some state controlled and nationialised businesses to supply jobs for immigrants and foreigners who are not citizens.

AJ99: What is your policy on tax and money printing? You have previously voted against TPP proposals for lower taxes on food, gifts and tickets - 3 essentials - and backed increases in VAT on some items. Why should the public vote for a President with a record of taking money away from them? Although the game does not allow for it, would you agree with me that the best system income taxes is income itself, not what product you're manufacturing? And how do you defend your support of the use of gold to print money when it's not needed, despite the fact the printing of money can be a risk to the economy if done when unnecessary?

ADJ: At the time the decreases in taxes were not beneficial to the country economy, and if you look Tulip voted yes for an increase back to 10% on food I think it was, I would agree with you that for some people a tax decrease is very important for income tax, but should congress say otherwise I would listen to the majority. If we don't need more money -which we don't- I would say no. We also have around a thousand FRF which could be used to buy gold. Which will help us if we need MPPs. I voted yes to VAT because that is also important to the economy. Also I back my own parties laws which I said I would do to Danny.

AJ99: But right now the economy is strong. Surely we can afford to give some money back to people? You say that if we don't need the money you'd oppose, well you've proposed and supported printing money recently, when we don't need it. How can people trust a President on the economy when his positions are so contradictory and ever-changing?

ADJ: I supported the print money because I honour my word to the hilt, I gave a promise to dannydan that I would back his law proposals as he would back mine, at the moment yes we do need to give money back to the people which is why I'm suggesting right now - and this may ruin the economy slightly - to donate 50 GBP to each and every e-UK player. To reward them for their help in making this country what it is. I exclude myself from the 50 GBP donation scheme.

AJ99: I respect your honour to your Party, even if what you were promising was damaging to the economy. Speaking of damaging to the economy, giving 50 GBP directly from the Government coffers to each and every person is hugely expensive and dangerous. It also seems like a bit of a cynical bribe to people for votes? Would it not be better, rather than a one off donation, if people had to pay less for the most important items (through lower VAT) and those working in the most vital industries got to keep more of their money, whilst luxury and dangerous items are more heavily taxed to cover the cost and lower consumption? Once people spend that £50 it's gone, whereas if they have their own earned money they will be able to spend more and more over a longer time period. Also, you never stated a position on whether your support and like the game's current tax system or support an actual income based approach to income tax?

ADJ: I get where your coming from, I would rather than have the VAT taxes at the 10% they are reset them to 3%. Those working in the most important services would benefit from lower income tax, and my stance on the current tax rates would in all fairness be that in the areas most dangerous and useful to the country the taxes should be lowered, and that in those areas there should be a larger income to all those involved, I would suggest giving a standard wage of 15 GBP if affordable or as an alternative 5 gold.

AJ99: When you say standard wage, do you mean minimum? Because setting a standard is bad for hard working people who are already paid over £15?

ADJ: That is at the employers discretion, this suggestion would affect those with wages of 1 GBP which after tax is 0.80 which is no good to anyone. This scheme I hope will help the people, and standardised wage is the basis of Socialism and Communism. Which would if put into practice be beneficial. I hope.

AJ99: But there is a difference between standardised and setting a base minimum. Standardising puts a risk the prosperity of those earning higher than £15 where as setting a minimum helps those earning lowly without damaging higher earners, which, surely, is far fairer? But I completely support the idea of a minimum wage.

ADJ: Sorry I should explain, I mean a standardised minimum wage. No one paid higher should be affected, if they are I invite them to tell me so I can sort it for them.

AJ99: That, I support, and I'm sure a lot of people will support that. Staying on the economy, you mentioned a promise to dannydan to vote in favour of dangerous money printing. How can you defend making someone who has only just been elected to congress and has a terrible track record on the economy Chancellor. I can understand your loyalty and honesty in keeping your promise to him, but that record surely can't be worthy of a Chancellor?

ADJ: Well, due to BPP having four members two of which haven't been seen in awhile, and the rest of the cabinet being TPP and lop having taken time away from the position, dannydan was my only option for Chancellor.

Thank you

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
