Greetings, my fellow Americans.
As I'm sure you've noticed if you have glanced at the shouts in the last day or so, it's that time again. Congressional elections.
As I write you today asking for your votes, I do not ask them for myself. I am a player with enough noteriety that I can count on gaining office pretty easily and it has always been my gag to tell people not to vote for me during every election. In fact, in every election up until my last CP bid, I had never voted for myself. I wouldn't blame you for not believing that, but there you are.
Some of you might want to just cut to the chase, if you're not interested in doing a lot of reading, there's a tl;dr at the end.
In response to the meteoric rise of YoA and the resulting political fallout, I have spoken with the Party Presidents of the Federalist Party, the United Party, National Moe Front and the America First party. We are united in our belief that it is crucial to the stability and continued success of this nation that we carry a reliable congress that will act on it's behalf and with it's eye on the future.
Some are likely to call this a move meant at denying new players Congressional seats, however that is not our goal. We simply wish to ensure that a majority of Congressional seats are held by experienced players that will recognize the authority of Congress, observe its by-laws and carefully weigh the consequences of their actions.
While I have been critical of Ronald Reagan, I will point out that I did not support nor participate in the Civil War which removed him from office and continue to argue with collegues about how to respond appropriately to him. I have no problem with Reagan as CP and, in fact, I had been very curious to see what he would do once he had gained power.
However, I am less than pleased with his track record in Congress in which he has routinely disregarded procedures established and voted into law, approved citizenship of unknown persons without customary background checks and served as an example for his fellow members of the YoA congressional delegation to do the same. I find all of this very troublesome. While I have not hesitated to express my contempt for Congress in the past, I have always respected it's authority and the decisions it has made, even when I have not agreed with it.
These rules are not arbitrary and were established as a means of pursuing democratic ideals in areas outside of what is covered by in-game mechanics. If any of you remember Hell on Wheels, such a program would not be possible without this external discussion Congress and such a piece of legislation would not be possible without a set of rules establishing the terms of debate and how majority consensus can be defined and reached.
We cannot all be playing the same game if we do not agree on those rules. If we wish the rules to be different, it is our responsibility to discuss and change those rules, so everyone can be sure of what those new rules are. It is the most basic duty of every Congressmen to be aware of and observe those rules and it is the only job of a Party President to educate his Congressmen on those rules.
Since I have yet been unable to reach an agreement with Ronald Reagan on how reconciliation can be made, it seems entirely fair that we respond by organizing in the same manner he organized, so let me get right down to it, then.
The following is a list of Candidates whom I have full faith will respect the rule of law and work together to ensure Congressional business is handled in an orderly and expedient fashion. These are not players who are expected to tow any party line or support/deny any particular piece of legislation. Some of them are establishment players and some are critics, but we are all united in our belief that Congress works better when Congress works together.
I, myself, am an 'establishment' candidate, yet I am known to buck establishment policy in what are sometimes loud and sharply spoken ways (Sorry about that again, Molly! It was nice to get to know you better, though. Crazy how much we have in common.) This is more common than people often think, though these arguments are frequently done behind closed doors. What appears to be a United front is often a tense argument bubbling just under the surface.

If you don't have time, at least message him saying who you did vote for so we can track and alter course as needed. Even if you are a candidate and vote for yourself, tell us so we don't waste votes!

Every one of these people I trust, implicitly, with the fate of this nation and I have not included any name that I have not spoken with personally for long enough to gauge their character to my satisfaction. If anyone's name is not listed, that should not be taken as a strike against their character!
This is simply a list of people I feel confident in enough to personally vouch for. If you wanted to be on this list, well I want to get to know you better anyway! I like knowing people and I love sharing my knowledge of this game with people and I'd be happy to share it with you. Talk to me a bit, engage with your fellow citizens and your community and I will look forward to adding your name next month!
I am asking this so that popular players, like myself, who garner far more votes than they need can lend their support to people they would rather you support. MollyEmma, Liquid HOMICIDE, met3 and myself, I can assure you, always lament at all the quality people that fall off the ballot, only because our names are so recognizable.
As I've said, all of the #2 - #5 Party Presidents are on board with this, I even checked with DannyCrowley, personally, to make sure he would want his name included. He said he is just happy someone is being proactive and organizing and I think that's exactly the right spirit!

About the game:
USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
