This is the second in a series of articles meant to help you understand politics in e-sim. If you haven't read the first I recommend you do so before continuing, it can be foundhere. Today we will look at the mechanics of Congressional Elections & what happens behind the scenes.
Where to start? So I have contacts & my name is out there, so what now? I want to run for congress, but where do I start? You're probably thinking just throw up your candidature, an article, & a couple of shouts. Unfortunately there are a few other thing you need to do first.
Platform T o start off you need to pick a platform. A platform is essentially why someone should vote for you. Platforms should appeal to the average person, but at the same should be reasonable & attainable. Appealing in that it the average person should feel that they are befitting from it. Reasonable in that it doesn't hamper the functioning of important areas of the government; Abolishing taxes while appealing is not a good idea in most instances. Attainable means you need to stand a decent chance of getting it done; You want to able to point back to this in the future & say "I did what I said I would do."
Good platforms are simple, like a promise to be active & participate.
Parties First of a couple of things to consider. One, only candidates from a top 5 party can run. Two, Party Leaders can cancel your candidature. When picking the party from which you are going to run you should pick one from the top 5. Also, you want a party that does coordinated elections. Coordinated elections are ones in which the party leader tells the party members who they should vote for. Done right this means that every person the party runs gets a seat.
Your Party Leader A good Party Leader, PL for short, can make or break your run for congress. So it is important to impress them & enlist their support. Before you submit your candidature talk to your PL. It is better to have them tell you no in private, then for them to kill it publicly later. When you contact them be sure to include your platform, a few of your contacts as references & why they should let you run.
As a PL myself, when looking at a candidate for approval that I am unfamiliar with, I look at the following. The candidates activity, I judge this by looking at the time stamps on their shouts, their work history, & how their accounts stats look in comparison to their account age. I also look at their ability to communicate. How well they phrase their thoughts, spelling/grammar, & their ability to type. I will then look at their past history & ask some of my contacts about them if I am still unsure.
Your Campaign Once you have garnered your PL's support it is time to announce your intent to run. First publish an article with your intent to run, your platform, & your goals. This should be done in enough time for people to ask you questions & you to be able to answer them. Next write a shout with a link to your article. Finally, you can now submit your candidature; Make sure to put your article link as your presentation. This should all be done early so people have a chance to look into & consider you, later on many people will have already pledged their votes. Now you should begin asking your contacts to endorse you & write articles/shouts saying why they think you are suited for the job. Also during the day of the election, & in the days directly preceding it remind people with a shout that you are running & why they should vote for you, not to often though maybe once or twice a day.
tl;dr Start by picking you platform it should be appealing, reasonable, & attainable. Next pick your party, it must be a top 5 & ideally do coordinated elections. Now you need to convince your Party Leader to let you run. You should tell them your platform, why they should let you run, & include a few references. With your PL's blessing in hand you can now announce your intent to run publicly. Do an article with your platform & submit your candidature. Advertise, make sure people know you are running.

& a great many other things besides.
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
