1. Cari caleg yang kita kenal, ada kata pepatah “tak kenal maka tak sayang”. Yang jelas adalah caleg yang memang kita mengenal bahwa dia adalah orang yang baik dan mampu untuk menjadi seorang legislator.
2. Setelah kita mengenal caleg tersebut, yang harus kita lihat adalah Party(parpol :p) apa yang mengusung dia. Kenapa parpol saya masukkan sebagai syarat memilih? Karena nanti para anggota dewan bekerja dalam bingkai fraksi yang notabene dalam satu fraksi adalah satu anggota parpol. Perlu diingat sehebat apapun seorang anggota dewan, dia tetap akan diikat oleh fraksinya. Pendapat dia notabene adalah pendapat dari fraksi (parpol pengusung), dengan tidak menafikan beberapa anggota fraksi yang berbeda pendapat dengan parpolnya. Sehingga bisa dikatakan walaupun sistem pemilu masih proporsional terbuka yaitu memilih orang (bukan parpol), tapi tetap saja mekanisme di parlemen adalah suara fraksi yang dipakai.
3. Jangan mudah tertipu dengan model caleg yang hanya memberikan iming-iming materi (suap pemilih). Caleg yang hanya bermodal suap pemilih, nanti jika jadi aleg dia akan mudah untuk melakukan praktik yang sama.
