As every online strategy game do, e-sim also provides a chatting platform outside the game for players to communicate.
>
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a protocol for live interactive Internet text messaging (chat).
>
Rizon is a large IRC network with an average of around 20,000 users. e-SIM has official channels on Rizon for chatting.
>
Mibbit is a web-based client for modern web browsers that supports IRC, Yahoo! Messenger, and Twitter.
So we the players of e-SIM chat on Rizon IRC channels. Mostly use Mibbit clients. Feeling dizzy? That means you are understanding it right! Good
Let's start with an example. Here is a link where you can join the IRC Rizon channel of Bangladesh Org of e-SIM through Mibbit client -
Click me!
Click the link and you should see something like this -
Type your preferable nick (I have used Tutor as an example nick) and click GO!
Now that you have entered the channel you should see this -
You can type anything here and people on the channel can see them. You can also see what they say (write) on the channel. Feeling good? Well..... don't. Because guess what!
You are not registered yet!
Yes you can chat without registering your nick but you will miss-out on many other features and will not get access to many channels like #strade (e-SIM global treading channel). And there is a chance that others may take your nick and you can't use it any more in future. So let's find out how to register your nick.
This is a bit complex process for those who does not have any programming background. This is why I will show you step by step (with screen shots) how to do it. You have to do it by writing some Commands (called
Service Commands ). From
Service Commands wiki you can get all the instructions you need but yet many people have hard time configuring this process from the wiki only. They often ask for personal guidance. Hence this Article
The Steps:
Step 1: Register your nickname
Step 2: Confirm your email
Step x: Identify to your nickname
Step y: Request for
Rizon BNC services
___________________________________________________________________
Step 1: Register your nickname
___________________________________________________________________
write -
/msg NickServ REGISTER [password] [email]
on your chat box.
Then change [password] to your own made-up password for registration. I am using
hakunaMatata1 here as an example.
And change [email] to the email you want to register with and where the confirmation code will be sent. I am using
hakuna@matata.com here as an example. So the command shall be like this -
/msg NickServ REGISTER hakunaMatata1 hakuna@matata.com
Now enter the command! If your nick has not been already registered by any other user then there will be a confirmation code sent to your e-mail Inbox (also check your spam. it can go there too).
If your nick has not been already registered by any other user then skip the next few steps! from >> to <<
>>
But if the nick already taken by someone else then "NickServ" will say - "Nickname XYZ is already registered!"
then you will need to change your nick. Type -
/nick [NewNick]
for example I am typing /nick Tutor1123
If you did it right it will say - "*** XYZ is now known as ABC"
Now try to register again - see the registration process above!
<<
If you did it right "NickServ" will say "A passcode has been sent to hakuna@matata.com, please type /msg NickServ confirm <passcode> to complete registration"
Step 1 complete!
___________________________________________________________________
Step 2: Confirm your email
___________________________________________________________________
Go to your e-mail account. Check your inbox and spam section. There will be a mail sent from IRC-Rizon with a confirmation code (it may take some time to receive the mail). Copy the [confirmation code], come back to IRC-Rizon and type this command -
/msg NickServ CONFIRM [confirmation code]
Example -
/msg NickServ CONFIRM 20sik25t2
If done correctly, you will get a Congratulation text on the Chat room.
You are now a registered nick on IRC Rizon.
___________________________________________________________________
Step x: Identify to your nickname
___________________________________________________________________
You may not have to do it now but you will need to identify yourself to your nick every time you Login to IRC after logout.
The command is -
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY [password]
(use the password you used to register.)
By this time you must have become familiar with the Command Service methods. Before you read the next lines guess how would I IDENTIFY my nick on this example?
....
....
....
Here in this example I would IDENTIFY my nick as -
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY hakunaMatata1
Because this IDENTIFY command you have to use every time you come, you better save the command (including your password) somewhere you can instantly copy from. So every time you come to RizonIRC you copy the Identifying Command and paste on the chat box and enter the command and you are recognized as the rightful owner of that Nick.
___________________________________________________________________
Step y: Request for
Rizon BNC services
___________________________________________________________________
This is an optional step but very useful. If you are feeling dizzy by doing all these steps and reading and reading then skip the next step for today and comeback tomorrow with a fresh mind!
BNC is the short form of Bouncer. It is a service that many IRC networks like Rizon provide for their registered users.
Usually when you login to your IRC you can not see what has been the discussion on the channel while you were not logged in. BNC is a service that keeps an eye on all the channels you are in while you are not logged in and saves the conversation. As soon as you login, BNC pastes all the saved texts (with time) so that you can see all the conversion made in your absence.
Since you have been taught about the Service Commands I will skip the lengthy process of explaining every details and just show you the Wiki Link for the instruction.

Rizon BNC FAQ
See the
Request instructions?
1. You must have a registered nick for at least 7 days.
2.
/join #RizonBNC
3. Depending on where you live,
/msg RizonBNC request EU or
/msg RizonBNC request US
(use EU for Bangladesh and all countries located on the Eastern Hemisphere)
4. Wait for the BNC to be manually approved.
5. Once approved, you will receive a memo from MemoServ.
6. Follow the instructions in the memo to connect to your BNC. (To check your memos,
/ms read last)
(the MEMO will provide you with a password like
tutor1123:blabla23bla. Save this password in a note. Notice that just
blabla23bla is not the password. BNC password is
tutor1123:blabla23bla where tutor1123 is the nickname on this example. This is your
BNC Password)
You cannot switch between EU and US after your initial choice!
Once you are done with BNC registration, you can then login via Mibbit using this link -
>>
BNC Login (for EU) (BD people use this)
>>
BNC Login (for US)
When you go to the link I gave you, notice the url. Replace the {"<"between">"} texts with with the BNC-Password you got from MEMO and the other one with your nick.
Now open another browser-tab and enter the custom URL.
My custom URL looks like this -
Save (bookmark) the new custom URL you created for your self and use this URL every time you want to login to IRC. Good news is, you don't have to IDENTIFY yourself anymore when you login with BNC.
Now click the Menu that save NickServe selected by default and select Pass.
Click
GO (you can leave Channel: box empty)!
Enjoy!
