France attacks the United Kingdom
The end of the term of president Lapin , only candidate in both October and November, saw significant diplomatic changes. France left the alliance DoW to join WPMW and proceeded to attack the United Kingdom, a country it was in relatively good terms with, and to seize her high diamond region. Some say the main cause of this invasion was boredom. In any case, this action caused many strong reactions both outside and inside France.
France gets a beating
Following the invasion of the UK, Sweden (a long-term French friend) led the charge against France. Official reason : supporting an ally against the evil French invaders. Suspected reason : an opportunity to rent the high diamond region from the UK. Alleged reason : French domestic opponents to president Lapin on friendly terms with Swedish leaders asked them to attack so hoping to discredit the president's leadership. Reason stated by a Swedish Vice-President : it was impossible to reach any agreement with a French president lacking diplomatic skills. Make your pick. In any case, the Swedish-led campaign was a resounding success, kicking the french armies out of the UK first then invading France proper, including its capital. The most powerful private MU in France, Orion , was strikingly unresponsive during this war.
Internal agitation in France
Towards the end of November, the situation had become very tense within France, and many insults were exchanged on its chan. To grossly summarize the arguments, one side mostly made of old-time players belonging to or close to Orion accused the president of general incompetence and of destroying France's diplomatic reputation with her long-term friends (in particular Sweden). The other side accused Orion's members of dictatorial tendancies and of being unwilling to accept that someone else would lead the nation. The strife extended to the main French party, home of both the president and his opponents, with the party's president being accused of selecting only candidates for congress who he knew were opposed to the CP (he denied).
Impeachment attempt
Immediately before the congress election, words reached the governement that the opposition planned an impeachment after the elections. President Lapin reacted by organizing a referendum, asking the people if they wanted him to finish normally his term or to resign. President Lapin won the referendum with 75% of the votes. However, the opposition claimed that this referendum was worthless, its wording, along with random votes by uninformed two-clickers, guaranteing a meaningless success according to them. The next day the very own MoFA of president Lapin, Valen publically confirmed that an impeachement vote would be organized and that he intended to lead the new government. Unfortunately for him, a couple of his key supporters failed to get elected, and the impeachment attempt was rejected by a short majority.
Presidential election
After kicking his traitorous MoFa out of the government, Lapin finished his term trying to fight back the invasion of France. He announced that he wouldn't run a third time. Valen stated that he would be candidate, with a government mostly made of old-time players members of Orion. Besides some changes in the way public companies' profits would be used, he mostly announced that he did not intend to leave WPMW but would try to mend relationships with the UK and Sweden, which, if not allies didn't need to be ennemies. British candidate and soon to be president Law7441 wowed that he would not relent until France had paid for her unwarranted attack. French occupied regions were nevertheless liberated, Orion engaging again fully in the war. Valen won the elections in a landslide, facing only a relatively anecdotal challenger. It is rumored that despite Law's previous statement a peace agreement would already have been reached between France, the United Kingdon and Sweden.
Update
On day 827, five days after the presidential elections, the second act was played : following a failed impeachment, supporters of former president Lapin started a civil war against president Valen.

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
