This is from a topic I recently started in the eSim Suggestion Forum: http://forum.e-sim.org/index.php?topic=8319.0

I think me, Kaizen and tudor are p much the only non-staffers that ever go there, but you should check it out and post your ideas there, instead of writing articles that no one will track or, at least, post there along with your article?

So, I just had an interesting experience, I thought I should share.

It's the first round of the Team Cup Tourny and I was watching round 7 of Brown vs Orange. I'm buff flipping and I really don't want to hit my buffs until towards the end of the day hopefully the beginning of the next match, but at the same time, I really want to win these rounds if I can. I've got full Q5's and I'm all ready to go. As the round draws to a close, it's close and our side needs just a little push.

So, I start hitting very carefully and do 561,940 resulting in about 145k in overkill.

This lead me to an interesting thought.

This is exactly the sort of fighting that, I assume, the admin would like to encourage. It's certainly the kind of fighting that national leaders would like to encourage, however the only real way we have of doing this is giving out free supplies and shaming/shutting out people that over-kill using those supplies, or similar methods.

So, why is it that, despite doing 'the right thing' with my damage, my only reward is the knowledge that I've done 'the right thing'? Why do I get nothing for watching an easy BH get grabbed by some foreigner on a daily basis, because the round just doesn't need any more damage? What's in it for me?

Now, I don't mean 'me' as in 'myself', specifically. I mean 'me' as in the user.

What do I have to offer my citizens other than some crass appeal to nationalism that, even to me, starts seeming disingenuous after a while? My citizens don't get anything, individually, for making damn sure we hold our colony. Why shouldn't they go for the battle hero and leave me to figure it out. After all, they don't get the tax money from it, I do (in a round-about way) and I don't think most users appreciate that the price of Q5 food has dropped 0.10 USD since we signed a rental agreement for Canada East Coast (or how that's important).

Why is this?

Or, better yet, why isn't there a Decisive Hit medal? Something awarded to the person who deals the least amount of damage needed to win a round? This gives the big players an incentive not to over-kill the heck out of battles (which is a problem for just about every nation) and is something that any unequipped newbie can have a decent shot at, while helping reinforce the mentality that nations need their players to have, in order to win battles?

Obviously this would need *some* refinement. What do you do with a battle where the BH is 100% overkill? My suggestion would be to discard the damage of the top hitters until it's down to someone who is not overkilling.

There could be other problems I'm just not considering, but conceptually, who would it really hurt if we rewarded people who help the most and, in doing so, slipped a little gold in the direction of newbies?

Just a thought.

Love,

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
