So, you might have noticed a few days ago I snapped pretty hard.

Last year, just before my first Presidency, railman introduced Secura which proved to be troublesome in that much of our active and engaged population went into two-click mode here and applied themselves there, instead. The introduction of Suna, during my term, lead to much the same problem with a population that never really recovered from the last hit.

I've been struggling to reconcile the time and effort I've put into developing our nation and our sense of who we are, as a nation, with the rising tide of apathy. I don't think it's that no one cares but I do think it's time to alter our approach.

I do want to say this, before I move on to what I have in mind. Many people took my anger and the chiding nature of my article to mean I was overwhelmed or complaining about the amount of work that goes into the job that I myself volunteered for. To be clear and in no uncertain terms, this is not the case. I am entirely capable of running all the required functions of government, with little support and, frankly, it's not even that difficult.

My point was not, "I'm doing all this stuff, you all need to do more because I can't do everything by myself." And there seemed to be no end to the people messaging me about the functions of government. What I need is what I said I needed, and nothing more.

We need damage and we need fighters that can maximize the effect of that damage.

I'm not asking to be thanked, nor did I point out all the things I've accomplished as a way of implying others should be as involved as that. And, to be honest, I think it's pretty s***ty that some people responded to my strongly worded but entirely valid criticism by pointing the finger at me. I was told that's what I get for putting in the effort. I was told I was demanding praise. I was holding myself as the standard.

The implication of all that is that I shouldn't bother, but frankly, I don't have space in my head for defeatists and I don't have time for people whose only contribution has ever been to be spiteful, Kilazul . I'm not giving up and I will find solutions and if people aren't going to contribute, then I'll find solutions without them.

My major frustration here is this; I could take the active and engaged players I have and fight as effectively as we fought when we did it as a community but I didn't want that. I don't want to be a Government that works to the benefit of the elite and ignores others. I'd rather be giving everyone Q1's than give 6 people Q3's and Q5's, but that's where we're at.

So, I spoke with Liquid HOMICIDE about this last night and I think I've come up with a compromise and some other changes that need to be made too.

First, I'm going to stop doing Hell on Wheels like we always did. Liquid said his intention was never for this to be a welfare program and that's what it's become. It's a crutch that we all lean on, rather than maximizing our own potential. Why should MU's and individuals strive for more, when they can just do what they do and I'll just had out the rest, if they can even be bothered to ask for it?

Instead, I'm going to begin reimbursing people who fight in the last 5 minutes of battles that need damage. Yes, I expect you to fight smart on your own. It doesn't take a genius to realize that our side is up 5 million and the other side isn't hitting back. But, I will shout and ping on IRC when a battle is approved and I will send Q1 weapons to people that fight in it and fight right.

We will also no longer be supplying Q5 Gifts.

Our Military Units are in terrible shape and, Liquid and I both agree, they need a fire lit under their a**es. I don't know what to tell you guys, except that you need to figure it out and put in the time to developing your structures and your members. If you don't have time to do it, then you need to put people in the game that do. If any of you would like to talk to me about this, I'm happy to discuss things and to see if there are any ways I can help, but the US Government is no longer going to carry you.

Finally, I will be providing a mixture of Q1 and Q3 weapons, along with the option to purchase Q5 weapons at half price to those dedicated and engaged players that have proven they have the time and talent to put the tax payers resources to the best possible use. If you want in on this, you need to get on IRC and you need to prove yourself.

That's it.

That's my rhyme.

Take it to the streets, biotch.

Love,

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
