Many of you might know by now that eNL host a Military Unit (MU) called Alpha Unit. But truth be told, we are a little bit more than a Unit. In this article I will try to explain who we are, what we do and why we might be the outfit you’re looking for!
Roots
This is something that might surprise people, as Alpha Unit was not founded in e-Sim. For this we have to travel back to July 2011 in a game called eRepublik. In this game Alpha Unit was created out of the desire to promote equality, honesty/transparency and cooperation. Not just in the military sense but also political and social.
Thus far the organization has been very successful (in both games), we have been growing steadily without compromising quality.
Goals
Alpha Unit strives to become eNL’s finest Independent Military Unit. But maybe even more important, we strive to provide likeminded players with a great community to advance together reaching even greater achievements. Teamwork and activity is key!
Supplies
Every Alpha Unit member donates all his/her gold to the MU. This gold is used to upgrade our Alpha Companies so that we may increase quantity and quality of our supplies. Members work in these Alpha companies for a currency salary of 1 NLG/GBP/USD. However they enjoy a daily supply of the best quality Food/Gifts/Weapons that we produce.
To give an example, with economic skill level 5 you can get probably a job with 25-30 NLG salary on the current market. The daily supply package our Alpha members receive is worth at least 50 NLG on the current market! And this is for everyone the same, no matter your economic skill level. We believe in equality.
It’s a great sustainable system that will get increasingly effective! The more gold that comes in, the faster we can upgrade our MU and companies to increase quantities and qualities of our supplies.
Alpha Unit the first!
Our Alpha organization was the first to make a MU in our eNation. Furthermore we are the first to set up a daily supply line in our country. We are the first organized organization in eNL period. We even bring experience and knowledge not only from this game but from other similar games as well.
Language
Our organization only uses the English language. This should not be seen as disrespect towards the Dutch language. We just recognize that this is a international game and that many non-Dutch like to enjoy their stay in eNL.
Inactivity
We reserve the right to revoke membership due to inactivity.
We only ask our members to be active and if they go inactive that they let us know in advance. Your membership will be revoked after going inactive unannounced. After your membership has been revoked due to inactivity, you can reapply for membership once active again.
Code of Conduct
As member of Alpha Unit you are expected to follow the following Rules within the e-Sim universe.
1. No Cheating.
We do not support cheating, hacking/exploitation of game dynamics/bugs to gain an unfair advantage. We feel that those who do are inferior players, and we have no interest in inferior players.
2. Representatives.
As member of the Alpha Unit you are a representative of our organization. Even though all official communication come only through the MU Commander, your behavior and language as member still represents the Unit in its social aspect. Be respectful and civil not only towards other MU member but towards the entire e-Sim community.
3. Stay active.
Stay up-to-date on the forum and ingame. We want willing, informed, active and interested members, not dead weight.
4. Profanity.
Profanity is allowed as long as it is not used in a malicious or harmful manner towards other players.
5. Sexuality.
Please keep it PG-16 at all times.
6. Rule Breakers.
Any Alpha Unit member who breaks the Code of Conduct will be dealt with very seriously. Upon applying for Alpha Unit membership, you have accepted the Code of Conduct and thus are subject to abide by them.

About the game:
USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
