It is now well over a year since SM Corp began as a public Stock Company with dividends equal to 0.01 gold per share each day. It has been good times and our Stock Company has been in the top 5 most valuable Stock Companies for a long time now.
Quite a few players have bought shares in the company which is all fine and good. The problem is that eventually players move on with their lives and go inactive. In this game though they keep their shares in Stock Companies. Essentially this means that over time there will be more inactive shareholders than active ones, and that the active ones have to share profits with people who might never return to the game.
In the long run this is unacceptable. Why would we spend our profits on inactives? Yes they own shares and have their rights, but they are not here!!!
I have been waiting for well over a year now for the authorities in this game to deal with this issue. I don't mind if inactives shares get put up for sale for triple the estimated value, just give us some way to buy out inactive shareholders stocks. Maybe the stock company could buy back the stocks and remove them from the game. The inactives would still get lots of gold that they could use if they came back, and if not it works as a gold sink which keeps the economy going.
In any case, in the last year nothing has happened about this. Well, actually something has happened. Other Stock Companies with the same problem have cheated. Some stock companies have gone around the system that all shares are worth the same by stating that shareholders need to PM the CEO to recieve dividend as a gold salary rather than actual dividend. All to get around an uncomplete system. Other stock companies have stolen everything and moved it over to a new stock company, and the CEO would then sell shares to old shareholders who send him a PM. In both examples the inactive ones are the losers.
The examples above have happened and it is illegal. Yet as far as I can tell nothing has happened to those stock companies.
I'm tempted to do one of these "workarounds" to get rid of inactive shareholders in our stock company. However they are still illegal and we want to play fair.
What we will do in SM Corp then is to shut down the Stock Company.
Basically sell off everything and do dividends with all. That way inactives get their eligible share and at the same time we get rid of them. The sad part is that every active player will also find that their shares worthless, after recieving dividends valued close to the current estimated value per share which is above 6 gold per share.
I have been considering back and forwards for six months now how to solve the problem with inactive shareholders if the developers don't help us. This is the fairest way of doing it within our limits.
What will happen is that for my share I will buy up some of the companies and continue with SM Corp but as the only owner. Everyone who is working in the companies now will have the option to continue to work in SM Corp.
I'm not sure what to say. It sucks, but there is a limit to how long this can go on. Almost half our shareholders are inactive now and having to constantly pay dividends to people who might never return is really bad. It might take a while to sell off everything but we should get it done.
Thank you for this time. I don't want to have to apologize for something that is basically the developers fault, but for our active shareholders I apologize for being fair, honest and for not cheating. I hope you get to do something nice with your dividends.

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
