Hello everyone. Today, I decided to leave seat filled with popcorn and actually make something constructive regarding the current situation between the 4 countries involved (Portugal, Spain, Brazil and USA). As we know, war just started and surely there's a lot of propaganda flying out from both sides. However, I'm going to take Spain and the United States out of equation and clarify exactly, point to point, the relationship between Portugal and Brazil and its history. Keep in mind, however, this text DOES come from an IRL portuguese, so it will probably be biased towards Portugal. Possibly.

Portugal and Brazil started this game with an extremely rocky relationship, due to, mostly, having the Portuguese region of Azores occupied by Brazil, not for 3 months, as some say, but (at the very least) 5. And in fact, this is such a major issue it affected Portuguese-Brazilian relationships back then and it still affects NOW. However, it should be kept in mind that most of the harm made on the two countries' relations can be blamed on one person: _Zyzz_ aka Lukas Pim. He was, without a shadow of a doubt, the most influential player of the portuguese-speaking community in this game... but not in a good way. He was the President of Brazil at the time this country occupied Azores, and after a very long time, he was completely against Portugal having it back, but for now I'll just leave him there. Back to the nation-states, how did Portugal exactly react? By joining Brazil's alliance ALPHA.

One may wonder why did Portugal make this decision, but most likely it was because of Lithuania and especially iPSiArt who was pretty much responsible for making Portugal a relatively important country. So anyway, Portugal for the next months applied realism, and totally had to let Brazil keep Azores for several months until it eventually became a big issue in ALPHA, and despite LukasPim's threat to wipe Portugal off the map during the meeting, the region was given back to Portugal. And so, apparently, Brazil and Portugal were going to be on good terms from now on.

So did Portugal and Brazil formed a good relationship being allies? Well... no. Portugal and Brazil were like oil and water. Despite both Government being cooperative, the Portuguese really disliked Brazil. In fact, when Portugal declared war on Spain, Spain declared war on Brazil, and Portugal had to help Brazil against Spain, a lot of citizens preferred to be at war with Brazil rather than Spain. I know of it, because I was the Portuguese CP back then. But anyway, Brazil also helped Portugal fighting off the US during the Portuguese-American War where Ireland was involved in it too, however, something disrupted the Lusophone alliance. And it was... _Zyzz_ again. He somehow became CP of Brazil again and put a law in the Congress to declare war on Portugal. Apparently there was a major civil issue going on in Brazil, to which the Portuguese were ignorant of. A lot of the portuguese saw it as a provocation and demanded war to be declared, and pressured the Portuguese CP back then TarnakPT to do so, which he did.

At the beginning, LukasPim's provocation was the reason for the war, but once ricardolin was elected (ironically he is now the CP... of Canada), the reason was now revenge for Azores. And, so, many months passed, Brazil broke 2 or 3 NAP's with Portugal (I'm not sure of the amount of times the Brazilian Government broke it actually) and the war is still on to this day. Why? Brazilians say for the bonus of North of Brazil, Portuguese say revenge for Azores, and some oldies say for LukasPim. And in reality, it's a bit of all, but at the same time, none of those reasons are the main reason. The main reason as to why Portugal is still fighting Brazil is because Portugal is stuck. There is no other country Portugal could be fighting at the moment, and so, Brazil is preferred, because it became Portugal's natural enemy throughout the course of this game.

As for Brazil joining the AP and asking for help, can they be blamed? Well, no! Portugal did the exact same thing. The only difference is Portugal actually accepted having its most valuable reason partly occupied, and in trade, it would get... nothing, and Brazil in this case is much more inflexible. However, it should be kept in mind, back when Brazil was above Portugal, Brazil was still receptive enough to negotiate; and now that Portugal is above Brazil, the Portuguese Government outright refuses to negotiate.

My two cents on the issue,
Mark Stray

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
