The political process is very important in e-Sim. The leaders you elect will affect, not only you, but your country and possibly the entire world.

The Party System

In every country, there are several political parties. Members of the five largest parties have the opportunity to run for congress each month. Leaders of major parties have a great influence on country politics, because they can decide who runs for congress from their party and can support presidential candidates. As soon as you join e-Sim, you can join a party, though it is advisable to research each party’s political stance before making a decision. At level 5, you can create your own party for a cost of 20 gold. Be warned however, small parties have little influence in the political system.

Voting: Your voice in the process.

Just like many countries in the real world, e-Sim countries are governed democratically. After you reach Level 7, you earn the right to vote in all elections. There are three types of elections in e-Sim: Presidential, Congressional, and Party Leader. All elections take place once a month, with Presidential on the 5th, Congressional on the 25th, and Party Leader on the 15th. For each election you may vote once.

Running for Party Leader.

On the 15th of each month, party leader elections take place. You may submit your candidacy from the 12th to the 14th of the month for a fee of 2 gold. The fee is to ensure any candidates are serious about running for office. Assuming you are elected party leader, you will hold the office for one month, where you will have to run again to hold your office.

How Congress Affects You.

Congress is the main governing body in each country of e-Sim. Each country has a maximum of twenty members. Members of congress have three main jobs: voting on national laws and Mutual Protection Pacts (MPPs), proposing laws, and accepting citizen applications. Many times, members of congress will meet on forums or IRC to discuss laws and MPPs prior to voting in order to make informed decisions.

There are a few conditions you must meet in order to run for congress. First, you must be a member of one of the five largest parties. Second, your party leader must approve your candidacy. Finally, it is recommended that you submit a written presentation on why you deserve to be elected, this is not necessary, but it helps.

There is a strict schedule for the congressional election. From the 21st to the 23rd any citizen can submit their candidacy and optional presentation to run for congress. On the 24th, party leaders have the option to edit the list of eligible candidates for their parties. On the 25th, the election takes place. During the election, votes are kept secret until the 26th when the winners are revealed. If you get elected, you not only get to help make decisions, you also get a sweet medal with the accompanying 5 gold.

Generally, after winning, congress members are asked (but not required) to donate half of their medal gold to the country as a show of good faith.

The President

Each country in e-Sim has one elected Country President (CP). The president is the head of state who manages foreign policy and the nation’s military. The president can also propose many laws to congress, such as: attack regions, manage subsidies, place buildings, demolish buildings, propose alliance, declare war, sign peace, and propose referendums. Each of these laws would need to be approved by congress before being enacted. Though presidents are elected by the people, congress has the ability to impeach any president, but the vote result must be more than 66% of the votes being yes.

In order to run for presidential office; you must be at least level 8, not be a member of congress, and be a citizen of the country that you intend to run. If you meet these requirements, you may submit your candidacy from the 2nd to the 4th of each month for a fee of 10 gold. It is also recommended that you submit a presentation along with your candidacy. If you are lucky and skillful enough to win, you have just earned a great responsibility and also a shiny new medal.

Very few people have this medal in their collection, so it is a source of pride to own one.

Cabinet

All of the work that comes with the presidency can be overwhelming, so a CP will appoint a group of other active players to help him/her run the country. These are the cabinet members, some roles of the cabinet in Canada are:

-vCP: the vice president is the presidents sidekick and most trusted advisor. They replace the president at meetings he can not make it to, and organise the country in the CP’s absences

-MoE: the minister of economy, The minister of economy is in charge of running all of the taxes and economic systems of a country.

-MoD: minister of defense. The minister of defence is responsible for the military coordination of a country.

-MoFA: the minister of foreign affairs. This role manages systems such as the ambassador system and conducts meetings with other MoFA’s regarding things such as mutual protection pacts and peace treaties

Advisors: this role is self explanatory, a person assigned this role is an advisor to the CP and may also fill in for the CP in the rare event that the vCP is also unavailable

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
