Current Events Domestically

Hey there, America. I've tried to make a habit of getting an article out every few days, in order to keep everyone in the loop!

Domestically, we're blowing the dust off the Military Unit loan program, while we continue working out the rough patches and kinks in the national MU plan. We haven't stalled on that front, and we're still hard in negotiations in order to include some MUs in its structure.

What this means to you, is that you can actually apply for loans from the government, in order to upgrade your MU, or its infrastructure, at a fair rate. We hope many of you take this as an opportunity to step your games up!

Also, in order to best assess the views of my readership, how would you guys feel about a "Gaming with the President" night?

The premise: We all exchange gamertags for XBL, agree on a game, then choose a date once a week to hang out and kill stuff together. We can talk e-sim politics, chat, or just shoot the breeze! Leave your thoughts in the comments below, then I'll get a thread started on the forums for everyone to share their thoughts and what games we could play from week to week.

Aside from this, we're almost home, guys. Just one more region to go, and we're hard at work on deciding where we go next. A hardy thank you to the players who have stuck it out this long with us.

Global Politics

I've recently been engaging in some debate about the alliance that InternationalRanger chose for us, and about the course we're on now. Many people (non-Americans,) are wondering why we chose to assist the Dutch and Belgian people in their bid for freedom, against a country that's in the same alliance.

It's simple, really. As Americans, we feel a certain kinship to those we feel are being suppressed, and rebellion is in our nature. We hold our friendships very dear to us, and while the Dutch have not traditionally been a friend to the US, many of the people who comprise MUs and countries who we DO consider friends, asked us for our participation. Considering the debts of honor we owe to them, how could I say no? This was a prime opportunity to begin testing the water of how well I can get our MUs working together again, roust up a little activity, and to see how many new friends we can make.

Do we owe OMEGA? Some would think so. Frankly, I do not, because these people fail to see the bigger picture. While OMEGA and UNICO lined up to crook the knee to Poland, the USA was one of the few countries that tried to stand up to them, while in AGC. Now that the shoe is on the opposite foot, is it our fault that we see the blatant hypocrisy in the accusations some are throwing at us? No. It isn't, and the irony is delicious.

Furthermore, during Sigma, who helped Sweden and the UK secure themselves? The USA. Who placed themselves as a buffer between ALPHA and Sigma? The USA. Who helped France acquire colonies in the Netherlands? The USA. Who attacked Portugal in order to protect British colonies and interests? The USA. Who always rode night time patrol on Sweden's battles with Lithuania, even knowing Sweden may never pay the USA back in equal kind? The USA.

So frankly, I consider the damage given a solid payment on a debt long overdue TO the USA. If you have a problem with our stance, perhaps you should look back to our history and your own, and cut out the bullcrap propaganda.

Therefore, if the USA chooses to have some "me" time to rebuild our broken country, it is NOT selfish to do so. Our country was built on the premise of helping those who needed it and often selflessly giving to our alliancemates, to the detriment of our treasury and our own people. We've earned our right to neutrality, if that's what we choose. We've EARNED the right to choose our friends. We've EARNED the right to help those we choose.

That is MY United States of America. We may be fewer in number, but we still have our pride.

The Last Word

This part I reserve for our MUs and MU members. I'm asking you to come back. I'm asking you to send your commanders to coordinate. I'm asking you to send your members to strike together. I'm asking you to start working together again. I'm asking you to recruit. I'm asking you to take an active interest, and lastly, I'm asking you to do your best.

(Psst, while you're at it, I'm also mentioning that the Global Liberation Army may have a spot for anyone without an MU. Hit us up. ;-) )

May your paths to success be short and fulfilling.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
