Day 415 and 416 certainly had some excitement for two of the smaller nations in esim, and it became the focus of the entire esim world! As damage piled up, it became clear that despite being small nations, they both are well respected among the community and each have quite a few friends.
By the sounds of it, Ireland had been plotting their attack of Canada for some time and waiting for the opportune moment. Great judgement from the Irish CP saw them declare war when a huge portion of Canadians were effected by debuffs from one of their important allied battles. Canada was caught with their pants around their ankles, and despite doing their best, Ireland ran riot in the initial attack winning 8-4. AT the same time, SK was going Gangnam style double teaming them from the West.
Canada initially was going to let this go, and concentrate on an immediate RW, however, it was discovered along the grapevine that Ireland had hired the services of BAY for 3 Gold per 1 million damage. Knowing that Canada was somewhat crippled with most of their MU's out of commission, quick thinking by the Canadian government made them "prolong" the battle, with the intention of BAY using as much damage as possible, thus Ireland would have to pay a significant amount more.
The final tally as far as we know was 86 gold, which went to BAY, so with the attack, the Canucks assume that with the initial war declaration, the battle of CEC cost Ireland about 106 Gold + supplies. For Canada, they saw this as a huge win for them.
The might of the Irish shone through though, with many of their citizens donating to the cause, which somewhat negated this amount, and along with LukeZo leading from the front donating a boat load of gold for the battle, we were assured that Ireland didn't really suffer that much.

Soon after the RW started, this time with more Canadian MU's on board, and Ireland was without BAY. But, despite this, Irelands showing was pretty awesome, pushing Canada 14 rounds. Only a huge effort from Canada's allies put them over the line.
After Ireland took out the first few rounds, Canada and her allies worked like a well oiled machine. After day break though, Ireland came out battling and Canada looked to be in trouble. With Canadian CP OwenHargreaves pulling an all nighter, you could be assured that he would pull things together, and Canada too pulled some strings, called in some favours, and eventually this turned the tables.

One of the awesome things that has come from this battle is the hype surrounding both nations. Shoutboxes were lighting up, articles being written, IRC chat was awesome, and despite one unfortunate incident which was dealt with by the admins, it was all good fun! At one stage we had 6 irish guys chatting with us on the Canadian IRC chat. This had never been seen before. Both countries have increased their respect in the esim community, and who knows, this might lead to better things in the future.
I sat down and had a quick chat to the Irish ring leader so to speak about the about the battle earlier. Unfortunately Owen could not be reached as he is sound asleep. Someone wake his lazy butt up!
Q1) Would you agree that this battle reignited a flame in the Irish community that had been missing for some time?
LukeZo - Of course. Activity went up. People who I've never seen on IRC came about and ireland started to boom a little bit more. It definitely helped and I don't see any problem with spending large amounts of my gold for this. I don't know if it'll continue but I can hope I guess.
Q2) Community involvement is super important, there are no regrets for hiring a huge MU such as BAY? Did it put a major dent in your treasury, and, if you didn't hire BAY, do you think that the battle would be prolonged?
LukeZo - We probably wouldn't have won. There wasn't any dent to the treasury, I was the one paying. We still have a good amount of funds, supply, etc in the Org. I did have 145g at the start of this war. And bits loaned out. But now I have 24g last time I checked. War costs alot.
(ouzobat) Nice, talk about taking one for the team!
Q3) No doubt, players for certain countries are different nationalities. For instance, Im an Aussie, living in USA, yet fight ardently for Canada. How would you try to convince Irish contingency in esim to fight for Ireland players. I know that in my MU we have 2 Irish players and they thoroughly enjoyed the battle!
LukeZo - I'm a Brit, and I think Evision probably knows that Ireland has alot of nationalities. How could I convince them? Eh, I'm unsure. It's a tricky one for me, but as of current our population is growing, I'm trying to keep activity up with what I have available to me and I'd say we're progressing very nicely as of current.
I mean, of course, Ireland isn't the greatest place to be. I know it ain't. I've been here for a good 4, 5 months and it's a damn shithole when you look at it from the point of view I do. But I guess that's what keeps me here.
Q4) Ireland like Canada is a small nation in the game, definitely an underdog. Would you rather make a rental agreement with a larger nation to stay alive, or fight to the death?
LukeZo - Rental agreement with the UK and fight to the death with Canada. We have the best of both worlds. Though currently I'm focusing on Poland. Unsure if Canada will invade us, but we'll see.

Finally, HUGE KUDO's to the allies of Canada! Who knows if this is going to continue, I know from my point of view, this is a great battle and I hope it does! But the way that this reporter sees it there is only one outcome for Ireland:
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
Invest, produce and sell - be an entrepreneur in E-Sim.
Take part in numerous events for the E-Sim community.
