Boy sure seem's I've caused a ruckus with my last article. It even prompted an administrative response . So I shall be responding to a few critiques, admitting my own deficiencies, and laying down plans. I know yall arn't the biggest fans of giant walls of texts so I shall split this up into a few articles over the days. Today I shall handle the random citizen's responses and critiques, but tomorrow I shall deal with the comments of current President Pfeiffer.

First and foremost: Civil War is, at least temporarily, called off
I'd like to thank those who came to me and offered up gold for the CW, in PM or in the IRC, for their support in this endeavor. I'd also like to thank those who bothered to read the article and express their concern, it finally injected some activity into the country again and even if it's not a "win" for me its a win for America.

Now to begin addressing the damage debacle:
Kinda Good reasons but I think we should do it after we stop the resistance wars and Poland goes to worry about other problems. I mean a civil war and worrying about resistance wars - THIS IS SPARTA

It appears to be the biggest concern that we are spread thin as it is and we cannot waste damage in a Civil War. The popular theory is that because Poland is stretched over several countries we will be able to unleash a series of coordinated attacks and free up some land. There however are a few problems with this concept:

1. Contrary to Popular Belief Poland is not run by idiots
Poland knows damn well they are stretching their borders thin and opening themselves to multiple RW's. However some regions, such as North Caucus have no real strategic value as they are devoid of resources and do not choke off any continuous territory masses (like Alaska). Poland yesterday took advantage of the one RW per occupied country mechanic and had one of their own citizens launch a RW in North Caucus where even if they were to perchance lose it would not affect them in any major way. This costs Poland 20 extra gold per country and per day but when they have tax income from as many regions as they do it is merely a drop in the bucket.

2. When we divide their damage we divide our own as well
With each new front no damage is being added to the overall sum total against Poland. There are no countries becoming suddenly angry and joining against Poland. We distract some of their two clickers to fight in RW's instead of the big front but in general Poland, just as America does, sits in their own designated channel and watch battles and issue joint attacks of the correct size to make sure they win the rounds they need to. As we open these RW's and want to put pressure on them we send our forces to fight in RW's and direct territorial battles when necessary. This also divides our damage and our two click population is much more likely to fight in friendly RW than to move all the way to spain to fight against Poland directly.

Because of these facts Poland has the advantage and no matter how many fronts we continue to pile on as long as they are from AGC countries we will not be able to seize an advantage by simply throwing ourselves at their territory and hoping to win a war of attrition. On top of that with no regions our tax income is significantly lower and while I'm told we have a huge reserve right now it would not be wise to waste gold in RW's that numerically can not be won without a change in the population base, our coordination internally, or a diplomatic flip of a country outside AGC.

And before we have any AHA! moments from the opponents of a civil war I'd like to remind you that the money going into a civil war is raised by individuals against the government. There may very well be a cost to the Loyalists attempting to stay in power but the initial start up cost is not removed from the government's coffers.

If not AGC, where would you have America go? Are you sure we are wanted in another alliance? - Molly Emma

In fact there is not another alliance for America to be in, and I don't see why that is a bad thing personally. Some of our greatest successes have been when we were not in alliances, or when we were in a neutral alliance. We received CEC as a gift from the UK, and were able to negotiate with the Canadians to be sure we kept it, while we were neutral. We defeated the forces of Russia, an occupier and prior Alpha member, as a member of Sigma which was designed as a neutral alliance to avoid the over reaching powers of countries such as Poland and Lithuania. We held Cork/Kerry to defend the Irish/UK against Portugal and even (if only for a short time) held Azores as a member of a neutral alliance. We brought Portugal into Sigma and gained a great ally for a short time due to our unique position as the member of a neutral alliance. Portugal then went on to defeat and occupy Brazil, who had been a thorn in our side during the war with Portugal and occupied Mexico's high diamond region, one that we wanted (but ultimately never got) and that was important to our then ally Mexico.

And how did we get these allies? We worked on the basis of honest diplomacy and teamwork to ensure the prosperity of all countries involved. We developed a group of bro-level allies that were supported no matter what, and that gave us the freedom to ally with countries that treated us right regardless of their alliance preference.

Compare that to AGC, a knee jerk alliance formed with mostly former enemies (Italy was always kinda halfway into our sphere of influence though, but Russia, Brazil, and Lithuania were big time enemies) and a betrayal of previous friends (we picked Indo who we had no real relations with before over China whom we'd coordinated with on a few occasions). The result was the loss of Cork/Kerry, then CEC, and eventually all of America.

I would prefer to ditch AGC completely and begin a new, send Ambassadors to all the corners of the earth and determine who can be trusted and who cannot. Determine which countries see us as allies, as brothers even, and which just see us as interests and want to use us.

It is not the time for this. This is a time for killing Poles, not fellow Americans, simply because you're too impatient to get your grips on power. - Kara Thrace

I hope I have proved you wrong, this is not a simple power grab. This is a well thought out series of events that made me believe the current President is incompetent and unwilling to change to face the realities of this war. If you are not convinced merely speak up and I will ask the same question at the end of each article from henceforth.

Tomorrow I'll be covering the claim that apparently you can't overcome negative population growth no matter what and all declining countries have merely ceased to exist. Pfeiffer brings up his five years of experience (which I guess means eRep) so I'll explain how exactly curbing that negative growth is done from my experience in eRep. Hell at the time retention and foreign affairs were the main things I did, aside from attempting to budget in elite MU's, manipulate battle mechanics, and the like... but more on that in the next issue.

Leave some comments for me, I promise to actually respond to them all this time.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
