News! News! News! Most of it old, but you know. An update article about my presidency.

So of course, bad things have been happening. I'm sure everyone has seen that. The UK broke an already terribly unfair NAP and now we have no regions. I'd say that isn't great, nor is it a vote of confidence for me but when you're incharge of an already inactive and broken nation there isn't that much you can do. Fret not, I'm sure we'll regain our regions one day. Maybe. Probably. I don't know, okay?!

Of course, I have been trying. Discussions after discussions with my ministers of defence and sorting out a supply system hasn't been easy. It still isn't and excuse the fact if you do not receive full supply daily. We rely on workers to work and I cannot keep on putting in the food I make with my private MU to complete supplies, nevermind weapons being hard enough already. I'm unsure if I'll rerun or not. I'll see if I still have any plans I am yet to put in place or I suddenly want to cling onto power desperately in an attempt to make myself a more established e-celebrity. Though, Irish President as of current isn't a lucrative title as of such.

Hoping for the best is all we can do and a united Ireland would probably be the best possible solution as of now. It's the only thing we can do until stuff is sorted out and ready to go. Our congress is inactive, no one can doubt that, and we have a stack of problems sitting there we are yet to sort. I'm sorry if this is just a negative article but it's not all rainbows and bliss. That's a fact, for sure.

But I can say that our population has been growing steadily and we are currently doing things in private which can better Ireland. Atleast, we think it will (we referring to my cabinet and congress). With no income, it is hard to put things into place but then again, I cannot say it would be easy as such. Things take a long time to be put in place and also for the public to see it, but that is one of the disadvantages of careful planning.

But, please, check out the forums and IRC and start socialising and stuff! It'll help everyone if people logged onto IRC daily and started discussing stuff. It'd also help co-ordinate things and keep things going. I do urge new players to log on more, that'll help us and help you too!

But, whilst I'm here, I do have something to announce, and that is the AES (Apprenticeship Employer Scheme). Here's something kindly complied together by DUB explaining it!

Hi all,

A new scheme is being set up to help new players.

The Apprenticeship Employer Scheme (AES) allows citizens that meet the criteria (see below) to temporary own their own company for 1 week. The purpose of this scheme is to give citizens experience in running their own company. It is hoped that the experience gained will give the apprentices a better understanding of one of the major functions of e-sim.

To qualify for the Apprenticeship Employer Scheme (AES) you will need to meet the following criteria.
1) Be an Irish Citizen
2) Be at level 7 or above
3) Must not already own a company
4) requirement of 20 gold deposit - this is for security purpose only, so people can't just take the company and not give it back. The only way for this transaction to be done is by putting the training company up for sale on the market. We can't use the contracts function of the game. The 20 gold will be refunded when the company is handed back.

In addition to the AES, we will have a new database of all Irish owned companies (will be in another tread). This will highlight if there is a need for another Irish owned company (not necessary based in Ireland) and what product is most needed to help improve the Irish product market (prices for some items are far too expensive).

If you are interested or have any questions, just post here or contact me directly, DUB

Alternatively, you can contact me, I will refer you to DUB since he is probably the most experienced on it and he formulated the plan. All credit to him! Praise! Throw flowers!

Well, I guess this wraps it up. If you have any questions about the situation of Ireland, feel free to comment or PM and I'll be sure to answer aslong as they aren't insulting me directly (though, not many of you are asshats :p). Once again, have fun and I bid you a good morning/afternoon/evening.

From lovely Mallorca (where I am sitting in exile) I probably should do more of these.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
