Ladies and Gentlemen of the United States,
I appreciate the massive show of support, really, I didn't expect so many people to get behind me as solidly as they have. That being said, I'd like everyone to take it down a notch and put off the noose tying for a bit. Pfeiffer's indisposed and has said he has a rational explination as to why he did this without consulting congress.
Personally, I have a hard time thinking of what could explain why he did not bother consulting either congress or anyone on his staff, but I do think he at least has the right to defend himself. Calls for impeachment and, indeed, the pending impeachment are, I think, a bit premature.
Come on, guys. I know a lot of you don't like him, but it's just a game. We can lay the pitchforks down for a few hours.
That said, I've spent the past hours putting together a superawesome staff and brainstorming what can be done better. We came up with a hell of a lot. I have a headache creeping up the right half of my skull as we speak and my girlfriend has threatened my life no less than 10 times since I finished my last article.
So, without further ado;

Many of these people are from Pfeiffer's current staff, with a little shuffling around and some new additions. They're all good people and I have no doubt that they had no advanced knowledge of Pfeiffer's aledged wrong-doings and did nothing to cover it up. This was not a massive conspiracy and few people have access to the Treasury (I'm looking at your taint,
Shylock ) and it processes a very large number of transactions. It would not have been hard not to notice and would have taken some time to check the logs and congress to see if there were any explination.
I'm also pleased to say that I have Liquid_HOMICIDE, Fionia, Darkcerberus5960 and LordPariah's full support for my campaign, regardless of what lies at the bottom of this mess.
Now, I haven't had a hell of a lot of time to figure things out, but my campaign is not simply 'Pfeiffer did a naughty!' As much as he has done a fantastic job of convincing people of how hard he's worked, and I don't doubt that he has, the administration has been just incredibly underwhelming and has rode the tide of AGC's sucesses.
AGC is great, no doubt. Sincerely, after having been Secretary General of Sigma, this alliance is my absolute dream come true and I am sexually excited at the notion of being able to kick some people square in the balls. But, appart from it's formation, it's successes have largely been the result of Liquid_HOMICIDE's phenomenal stratey, tireless work and simply insane amouts of trust and cooperation by our allies.
This success is *in spite of* the current Department of Defense which has done, by all accounts, f***-all the entire term. I'm going to say this in no uncertain terms, Mark Michaelson has been a total failure as a Secretary of Defense. I'm not judging him, maybe he was slacking and maybe he wasn't ready, but this needed to be dealt with weeks ago. This has resulted in *yet another* totally useless 'HQ' channel and a forum board that consists mostly of Liquid posting alliance updates and zero context from the administration.
As for the rest of the Departments, I'd completely forgotten they even exist until I had to figure out who would staff them. Why? I don't think it's a problem of incompetence. I know most of these people and they're solid. It's a lack of leadership and a lack of faith in that leadership.
'Well, yeah. That's great but what are you going to do?'
I'm so glad you asked because, as it happens, I have ideas. We actually brainstormed up a hell of a lot of them.
#sim.us-strikes needs to be staffed! Duh. I wasn't on more than three hours and I've got five people that can be there, are competent and trustworthy and can call the ball. I'm not talking about 24 hour coverage and I'm not going to try to make a set schedule. That sucks and, really, that makes the game a job. Not a job like 'President' a job like '7/11'. We don't need total coverage but we can do a hell of a lot better than what I've seen and we need to at least put in the effort.
Funding for Militias. Now, while Band of Brothers lacks MORE BUTTS, how much damage do they lay down, at their own expense, everyday and do so with strict obedience to the President? I'll give you a clue; ALL OF IT! How hard would it be to toss them a few USD every week and say 'buy whatever supplies you need'. Yes. I'm talking about some trust here. Private Military Units lay it down everyday and we don't give them anything but 'Hey, thanks man.'
They don't even really expect more than that, but doesn't it kinda make sense to help them do a little more damage, move some product on the markets and give them a pretty damn good reason to continue playing ball with the Government?
Hell, maybe we could even use that to get more than 5 or 6 of the MU leader's in the HQ channel instead of sending them bitchy messages every once in a while, get them to pay attention to guys who aren't fighting on orders and get to know some of the people in these several pages of MU's that we really don't know that well.
I'm not talking about a blank check here, we need to get recipts as best we can, probably have them apply for approval by congress and review them if we think they're screwing around (yeah, we do notice) and, yeah, a little trust. Will at some point some USD be spent in appropriately? Probably. Do the benefits outweigh the risk? If we set it up right, you bet they do.
Cornicoupia's needed some work and I've talked to Baarogue about some options, I think we're going to see some solid improvements.
Tosh hit me with this, I really liked it. What about a weekly press corps meeting? Get some interested journalists together and do a Q&A session with the CP. Let them ask me some tough questions or throw a shoe at me. Whatever, everything I say doesn't need to be filtered through the State Run Media and I can dodge shoes with the best of them. That should be the most basic interface the public media has with the government.
There's more but, surprise, I'm already going on this asprin isn't helping, I've gotta be up in four hours and I am dead tired.
So, once again, thanks to everyone who's read my lengthy diatribe.
I've probably forgotten a thing or two that I'll remember when I'm re-reading this for the third time. I think I just like to read my own writing.
His Holiness, Hentai Christ, the Loli Drama.
Equus Maximo of all Ponydom and a little nervous and a lot excited.
P.S. Again, give the man a chance to at least respond, guys.
P.P.S. You can expect ponies in my Presidental addresses, but I'll keep it out of the rest of Government.
