If you are still with me you may have noticed that I am complaining quite a bit. Yeah, well, as a player in eSim that’s what we all do. But instead of complaining I am going to give a little advice here. There are many people out there that feel like they are ignored because they are newer players or not part of the "in" crowd. They feel that they are eliminated from Congress/government positions because they have no experience, but when they try to get experience they are met with fall backs of just get on IRC and the forums (even though a large portion of those elected do not do the same.) So here is my advice, stop complaining and start acting. Most of us are in a political party or MU. If you look at Congress elections the bottom tiers where the cut off at 20 Congresspersons is relatively low. A regular MU or small party can easily get in 2-3 players in Congress with a coordinated plan and discussions beforehand. For an example, let’s take the Sons of Liberty MU. They are outspoken group, and in all honesty, are correct a majority of the time. However they are not united. If the MU as a whole decided on 2-3 dedicated Congress members and only voted those 3 they would get into Congress. Now, that is 3 out of 20 votes. It is low, but if the three there actually do good, participate, write articles and get a following outside the MU, then the MU changes the target to another 2 Congress persons and let the other three get in on their own. In only a few terms you now have 5 in there - 25% of Congress, and more than enough to nominate and possible vote in a SoH. Instead everyone wants to run and everyone wants to win. Sometimes you have to take one for the team and if everyone starts to realize that, government will be filled to people that want and deserve to be there instead of people that expect to be there because of some self-inflated ego. Look over the last few elections, do the math, and think about it.

Something that you may really love to hear is that the FBI director resigned. I know what you are thinking: WE HAVE AN FBI? Well, yes, we do. And they are funded with 735 gold a week to protect you. No, seriously, we do have an FBI which is dedicated to evaluating new citizenship requests to protect our government and companies. Some may remember a few weeks ago that a Congressperson gave citizenship to a person claiming to be wanting to help the USA. Instead they came in, built a stock company and began dumping products on the market. They make them in other countries and sell here, avoiding the import taxes with the stock company. The FBI is supposed to try to prevent things like this. So, on July 8 the director retired.... and the spot still has not been filled. Now I know what you are thinking, why did you not propose something? Why did you not nominate someone? Well, I volunteered to do it. I had a little support, but then it died. While I have no problem resurrecting discussions that benefit others or the country as a whole, I feel a little dirty reminding 19 other players - hey, look at me! I will do it! But since it does not seem to matter, it can wait until next term with a new Congress, new SoH, and new excuses for dead discussions.

We also had a bunch of discussion on MPPs, alliances and other things foreign affairs related. Now, when the decision was made to leave our friends Spain out on a limb by themselves when we joined UK, Sweden, and Poland, people freaked and blamed CP Pfeiffer and Congress. While the CP was in the discussions with other countries, no decision, at that time, was made. As you know, we chose Spain, Russia, and others. Check out the war pages to see what side of the war we are on. Since the decision was made we have been under constant RWs in our high regions as well as our allies are now getting attacked from multiple sides. This is the war so many were complaining about not having; enjoy it. However, if we lose our regions again, don't complain. But if you feel you must, don't complain to Congress, as CP Pfeiffer put it: "Congress doesn't have to vote on this. I'm hoping you will just so it's clear we're all on the same page, but there is no mechanical or meta requirement that you do so." So all future ramifications, good or bad, are all on CP Pfeiffer. Remember that. Congress has no authority for alliance decisions, but are the ones that are forced to find ways to pay for the results when war comes knocking at our door. Seems a little to real-life, doesn't it?

If you are still reading, I have to call you a liar. There is no reason anyone would have stuck around this long. But since you did I will tease you with something coming up in a few paragraphs. Someone in this article, who is not a current CP, is considering running for the office. Shhhh... more details to come.

You may be wondering why I, and others, still try to run for Congress if most of what we do amounts to nothing or just dies along the way. I cannot speak for the others but, as for me, I like it. I like to problem-solve. I like to argue. I like to problem-cause. I enjoy it. In my real life, I spend my time arguing contracts, working through and around language in documents, and arguing points just to make my case. It is fun and entertaining. Though I temper myself more in Congress than I do in real life, I still manage to annoy a few people and piss off others. But no matter what people can say, I am active daily. Some threads may fall to the side while others take center stage, but I am always there doing what I am supposed to do. Whether I do it in a way that others like, that is not the point.

With Congress elections in full swing there are a lot of papers out there with promises of change, programs to get done, boasts about experience... if you read the small amount of Congress activity I alluded to above, you will realize that no matter the candidate he or she will most-likely not get anything they want done. There are always other things coming up. There are always vacations. There are always holidays. You can have the perfect proposal, the best arguments for it, the most intellectual well thought out reasoning behind your plans, but if only 4 people show up to vote, it does not reach quorum and it dies. It is amazing how many votes actually are not voted on by half the Congress in a 24 hour voting period.

That being said....

I promise to do everyone of my platform pledges and will get them all done within the first week.

Also, I am creating an exploratory committee for my POTUS run. Send me your messages of support or disdain so I can judge whether I make the move. Also, all donations can be sent to me directly for the DC4POTUS Election Fund.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
