This is Global Connection’s interview of all the candidates for Presidency in the July elections. We asked them a couple questions each, and we also have the closing statements from the debate for those of us that missed it. The questions are bolded,

1a. I know you manage the West Point Military Unit for the government. What do you consider your best achievement in West Point and do you have any future plans for the Unit?
Feefaroni (F): My best achievement? Teaching a full class instead of just 3 or 4 people. I was told when I took over that not too many people would sign up, but so far, every week I’ve been teaching, the MU has been full. My goal, if I’m not elected President, would be to expand the MU, and allow people to stick around from week to week until they are able to find a new MU to advance to, instead of having to kick them out to make room for the next week’s class.
1b. Do you have a plan to improve West Point?
Wreckbeard (W): I would like to see West Point achieve maximum slots, but I am not sure if there are enough recruits for this type of expansion.
Pfeiffer (P): I helped with the initial startup of the Top Gun Flight School, and I think the biggest thing any training MU needs is competent leadership. I don't have much experience with West Point, but would listen to the concerns of the West Point leaders and recruits to ensure that their needs are met. There is always room to grow, and growing our young players into active and successful citizens is priority number one.
2. What achievements have you attained that add to your credibility as future President?
F: My very first achievement in game was getting a media blitz set up the day we made a deal with Russia to start taking our regions back. I helped get people pumped up and ready to fight. Then my next achievement was getting one of my Info Web guides published before I even bought a newspaper for myself. I could go on and on, but it’s pretty clear that I’ve been helping this country since the day I signed up.
W: I've been in Congress, I have served as the Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of State, Ambassador, and Director of the FBI. I am also on the board of executives at Greenfield Investments.
P: Honestly, I don't think a list is the right way to answer that. When evaluating potential leaders, you need to look at the entire package...but seeing as you've asked:
I've lived abroad, I understand the needs of our allies, I've served diligently in Congress both here and in the UK. I'm serving my second term as Speaker of the House now, and I am honored that Congress elected me by the narrowest of margins over our very successful former President
Liquid HOMICIDE . I am responsible for the recent re-write of our Congressional By-Laws, and for ensuring that the positions created by previous Congresses are filled with strong players, helping to revitalizing the FBI from a near catatonic state. I served as Deputy Secretary General of Sigma, and I regularly kill massive numbers of our enemies on the battlefield. I am now helping to improve the Top Gun communes as I recently joined their ranks, and to show my dedication to the unit am actually lending out my companies for our collective benefit rather than using them to profit myself. I've taken a near dead party and turned it into a successful one with an active player-base contributing to our country in many ways.
Phew, that was longer than I expected.
3. What makes you qualified to run for president?
F: I made that pretty clear in this article , but I’ll sum it up here: I’ve been in the cabinet for the past several months, serving in various roles. My main focus has been new player education, but I’m still involved with and in-the-know about everything that goes on.
W: I have experience in the executive branch and have spent all of my time dedicated to helping the eUSA. I am an active player in the community and have been involved in just about everything from businesses to law making.
P: I think the previous answer kinda turned into this one...just read back.
4. What are your plans for the term if you achieve presidency?
F: Here’s the basics: I’d like to continue our baby-boom, and see how we can better retain new players (not just education, but something more, something fun); I’d like to strengthen our relationship with our allies and with Sigma; and I’d like to make sure we hold on to all of our regions.
W: I plan to expand the DoI further than it has ever been expanded. Our new players mean everything to the future of this country, and it is imperative that they continue to play the game and progress quickly. I also plan on creating a more stable defense fund that encompasses Defense Systems, Hospitals, and supplies for major battles. I have other plans that involve the Army and West Point as well.
P: I want to take a hard look at our foreign policy, short and long term. I want to work with Congress on the issue of building a strong national military. I’d really like to focus on getting more people to the forums though. We have respectable IRC activity, but for a game like this the forums need to be active. Also, a President needs to be responsive. I plan to be available and ready to work as much as my real life allows. Luckily, I have a job where I can be at a computer, and thus on the forum and IRC for most of the day.
5. I’m sure you have been considering who your cabinet would be! Do you have any definite decisions made on that matter yet, or at least some citizens you are considering? If so, for what positions?
F: I do have some definite decisions, but those will be released in later articles.
W: I am going to be revealing my cabinet at a further date, but rest knowing that I have almost fully selected my cabinet. I will let you know that my VP is

6a. I know you run the FBI what are your feelings about it?
W: The FBI is an essential utility in granting Citizenship to immigrants. It is very important that Congress listens to the FBI when the FBI gives players a high threat level.
6b. How do you think the FBI runs?
F: They review citizenship applications and decide who should be let into this country. How do they decide? Magic. And friendship. But seriously, though, I don’t think that their process is something that should be posted for the public.
P: So far, so good. I personally appointed
Wreckbeard to the position only after helping determine the questions that needed to be asked, and making sure that he had set up a system, which would hold up under scrutiny. No half measures from me. He has done a fine job with it.
<Pfeiffer>There isn't much more to say at this point. I feel my articles and my answers here tonight show that I'm the best prepared of the candidates, and that should be all you need to know. <Wreckbeard> I bring different aspects of the game to the table that Pfeiffer and Fionia don't. The real question is who do you want to be your President? I will bring activity to the forums and IRC. I will unify our country and the other countries in SIGMA, and I will make sure that our new players are getting a better start than they would in ANY other country. If you want a President that will bring change to eUSA and who won't crush the spirit of those that have hopes of running this country by saying they are too new or too unqualified, then vote for me. Anybody that wants to help make this country better should be given a chance regardless of how new their character is, who they are, or what game they have played in the past.
<Fionia> I'd like to thank Emperor, Elitist, [8675309], and Khaled for hosting this debate, and everybody else for showing up. I think I have the best plans for retention, the most well-balanced cabinet, and the best experience to bring to the table. I've been in the exec since pretty soon after I started playing, and I've been highly active the whole time. As I keep reminding people, I've helped this country rise from nothing. And it's about time that I tried my hand at leading it.
Author’s Take: I, for one, think I will vote for
Wreckbeard . I will vote for him because he is an awesome person and has the ability to run the country with incomparable smoothness. Yes Mr. Pfeiffer is my party leader, but I feel that Wreckbeard is the better choice for PotUS. But again please feel free to vote for who you choose. This author’s take should in no way influence how you vote for president.
Editor's Take: This is one tough election no doubt! All three candidates are above the status of qualified and I like all three of them.

About the game:
USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
