For most people, breathing at this altitude would be tricky and unnatural. This was nothing to Mark, who had been training in the heights of the Rocky Mountains for months with his fellow Homefront soldiers. In recent days, his regiment had been instructed to re-camp further west, in the Sierra Mountains. A war was brewing on the American mainland.
His breath wasn’t the only thing that was calm. He was pretty relaxed – the captain had instructed his regiment that it would be several days before an invasion was likely. Never could he imagine the thought of slaughtering other men; therefore, he was not haunted by such images. He reviewed the basics of fighting – loading the ammunition, listening to the sounds of his colleagues on the front lines, stealthily reviewing the battlefield at every moment. His fingers twitched as he made the motions of refilling his M16 assault rifle.
He spread out his legs on the open grassy field where Homefront had debunked, glancing around at his surroundings. He could see some buildings far off in the distance – all shaded gray, thanks to the fog the lightly blanketed the city below. Another slow, deep breath – my, the air is so pure – and he closed his eyes. The transistor radio seemed to click on, though it had been running ever since he woke up. The sound traveled softly through the orange tent, branded with a large Band of Brothers logo on the left side, where Commander CmdrGhost had set up shop.
Sodankyla has been taken by the Finns, three rounds to go till victory … Approximately thirteen Russians killed, two injured, one Chinese injured, China continues advancing through Siberia … United Kingdom requests more reinforcements to cross English Channel to Netherlands … English pushed out of Amsterdam …
The commander bowed his head, hands clasped in between his legs. A few straggles of beard hair grazed his arm – I haven’t shaved in days, dammit. He sat up, sighed, and gazed at the tent’s ceiling, just waiting for the call he knew would come soon. The Americans had miscalculated. There would be no time to wait to attack the Pacific Coast – today would be the day.
“Commander?”
CmdrGhost spun around, hoping to God it would be Secretary of Defense Pikezh638, or Band of Brothers Elite Commander Liquid HOMICIDE. It was Abroham Lincoln, the man he had replaced. What is he doing here? “Officer, good to see you,” the commander said softly.
“Listen, bro, I’ve just got word that Infantry has moved from Arizona towards San Diego. Can you confirm this?”
Arizona?! Last I heard they were in Central Mexico. “Yes, sir,” CmdrGhost said, nearly whispering now, hoping that the softer he spoke those words, the less guilty he’d feel.
“Shall I tell the regiments to start packing?”
CmdrGhost turned away, sighing as he stared at the now-silent transistor radio. “No. I will let them know myself.”
-----
“Listen up, fellas. I’m gonna keep this brief. Russia’s getting pounded – they’re getting quite a few feet in their backside. They’re losing Oulu, they’re losing Siberia, they’re losing Alaska and the Canadian Pacific Coast, and I heard the Poles and the Chinese aren’t relenting. There’s only one place that matters to us right now, though.”
“Imagine yourself on a California beach right now. The sun beats down on your chest –” he shoots a glance at a private – “though yours looks a little flabby, kid. The seagulls cry softly as they fly over the neverending sea. The waves part the water and touch the smooth, glowing sand, lightly blanketing it on the bank till it just grazes your fingertips. This is bliss. You can take one beautiful, deep breath, and feel your life is made whole.
“We’re going to war, buds. We’re going to be killing other human beings. We want to rip out the Russians’ eyeballs and limbs and incapacitate them. When you step in front of a solemn, cold-hearted Russian man, you shall take a single breath, ready, aim, fire. That’s what you’ve all been taught for so long. Think about that breath. A short, jerky inhalation through the nose. It’s unfulfilling and, on its own, serves not its purpose. It’s not the deep, replenishing breath you would take at one of those California beaches.
“But when you take that breath on the battlefield, you will feel whole, too. Because killing those Russians and taking back the Pacific Coast means that for the rest of our lives, we will all get to turn those dreams of the California beaches into realities. And you shall rest peacefully tonight and forevermore knowing you have served your country, and you will have granted your fellow Americans a chance at something beautiful. Your service is beautiful in itself.”
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
