Has it ever happened to you to click on a game’s link (from Google) from as many different computers (with different IPs) as possible just to get its Google-Rank up? No? Well that what I do every time with e-Sim as I believe it is amongst the most underrated game of its genre (eRep. or Cyber World [whatever it’s called] anyone?). This is not to say it doesn’t have its flaws but I believe it is one of the best. I want to make an article of my personal list of pros and cons, please fell free to suggest ideas/ say why I’m wrong but please be courteous!

Let’s start with the positive (in no particular order)!
Pros:

Currency relatively balanced: Contrary to some games (*cough*), the market seems to be in relative control of the players this is particularly present through eSim’s trading channel “#strade” usually filled with active players. Still, inflation exsists thanks to decisions/ power.

Community praise: Again, this is a rarity in MMO, virtually everyone agrees with the majority of the admin’s changes. To be honest, they have every reason to do so, whether it’s a server upgrade, gameplay improvements (stock market & civil war), or glitch fixes.

Active Mods: ‘nuff said

Availability of statistics: Statistics on many aspects of the game (MU, countries, players, prices etc.) are readily available for players to use, admire, or brag of.

Originality: eSim is following a growing demand for MMOG strategies but is innovating in the way, subsidies for battles, referendums, new updates, damage factors (location, MU, DS).

Adequate punishment: I recently got caught having multiple accounts under the same IP (though technically different players, my sister and I, she didn’t care what I made her do ☺). I didn’t believe this was an infraction but of course it is (and it makes sense). Instead of perma-banning they gave me an annoying 50 gold debt, which I had to repay the day after. I thought this was reasonable; cripple my account temporarily without destroying it (full/ partial ban). Also, they actually take action against their players to make the game fair—kudos!

Other things: company upgrades, debt, contracts and many other features in the game I am forgetting are excellent.

Cons (not too much to say here ):

Resources: Personally, and this is highly subjective, I would enjoy seeing improvements in the way resources are handled namely, the elimination of medium resource regions (they are ALMOST pointless), a small bonus for conquering two of the same high regions as Lithuania had with Iron. More importantly though, I would like the regions to be distributed according to real life resources. Take sCanada for example, its west prairies are home of one of the largest wheat and oil reserves (also huge wood reserve in BC), its north is known for its diamonds, its east for its fish, and its south for technology innovation (no resources here ). Why admins, of all regions to put Canada’s high region did you pick grain in “Canada East Coast”?! This makes no sense, I could understand this in either “Manitoba” or “Alberta” but not there! I encourage the admins to rethink the location of resources regardless of the “balance” of the map (which is highly subjective).

Region Naming: This may seem minor but it annoys me, personally, a lot, the naming of regions. I don’t mind the shape/ number of regions (even if there are notably off) but the naming is weird, there seems to be no consistency what so ever. Once again, take sCanada, half the country is named with the province(s) in them (Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec) and the other half are geographical location (Canada East/ Pacific Coasts, and Northern Canada). Please choose one or the other do not mix both of them, I’d recommend sticking with the nearest major thing on Earth (e.g. a body of water). Example: instead of “Quebec” call it “Hudson Bay East”. I live in Canada so I know that country the best though I’m sure this applies to other countries as well. Also, naming regions by geo/reg should be on a country-by-country basis no need to make all the countries one or the other.

Small country aid: Likely my most controversial idea, I believe small countries should get some sort of more considerable help. Larger countries can own their high and medium regions as well as their capital (-25%) effectively destroying all chance for their own economy (then many will work for the attacking country helping their economy and lowering the chance the country will return on the map). My proposal is to make it impossible to attack a region if the country’s citizenship-holding population is over 20 (+/-) times that of the defending one. This would help smaller countries have their own economy and still allow countries to take them over with some cooperation (if in an alliance, a medium country could take it over then have it taken over by the larger country if the alliance is willing to spend that much gold to get the region).

Defense systems own Hospitals: buff hospitals—I’m not sure about this, look into it deeply before implementing (as admin always does anyways ☺ ).

Thanks for reading, of course I’m forgetting a TON of stuff but I feel the article is already too long. Don’t bother voting or subscribing, as I will never have enough readers to make it worthwhile!

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
