So, many of you probably don't know me and I'm Astra Kat G, running for Congress under the New Lunar Republic party. And I've chosen to do the decidedly unpolitician thing and be honest with you about who I am and why I'm running.

I'm mostly running to defy the usual order of things. The large, ruling party that sees fit to have a controlling hand in all affairs and talk down to whomever comes along to challenge the status quo. Frankly, although I'm grateful for all they've done for the nation, I'm insulted that any political opposition is seen as seeking to destroy all their hard work. I just don't understand that kind of demonizing.

But... why? We're just ponies!

Unlike what some people would have you believe, I'm not doing this to create anarchy or be an agent of chaos. Seriously, why would you post that?

Anarchy: NOT what ponies stand for at all! ...although we're not adverse to doing it just to mess with you in a lulzy way, not for srs.

On the contrary, I merely believe that in any democratic system there should be viable alternatives to the norm, a different option than to just fall in line behind the powerful folks at the top of the pile who like to remind us of everything they've done to make this country great. Daring to be different isn't the same as being an anarchist, so I'm running to exercise my right to be different. And daring to have fun in this game by being something different and provide an alternative to the largest, most powerful party shouldn't be condemned as a dangerous, subversive crime against sAmerica, either.

In this world of ours, we should all have a chance to make a name for ourselves, creat a party founded on anything of our choosing, and play in the political sandbox as well. Want to create a party founded solely on the notion that pickles are the best vegetable ever and we should all bow down to our new pickled overlords? I'm going to think you're crazy and slowly back away with a smile on my face and my hands up, but I'll support your right to do it!

So stand for something different! Let's not just be knights serving our queen! No, instead, be a pony! ...wait, that's a different article .

I suppose I could spend my time in this article boosting my perceived worth by telling you the various qualifications I have for this job, but it'd be pretty pointless, wouldn't it? Because, to be honest (there's that word again!), I'm just a newb in this game. Look at my birthday: it's Day 219! So, I fully admit I'm inexperienced, but I'm an eager newbie who took the time to write this tl;dr article -- and that counts for something, right?

I suppose I'm supposed to be giving you my stance on the issues, if there even are any. Well, I don't have a stance on anything except apples (which are awesome), toleration of new ideas, and how love & friendship are magic. Or something like that. No, I'm just here to have fun and fight for the USA , the same as you, and read the White House Press Release or whatnot. Totally uncomplicated pony here.

But I can tell you that I'm a fast learner and, if elected, will learn what I can about Congress and how to do it the right way, maybe even occasionally offer newbish and wholly untenable ideas. So long as it's not too much reading. All bets are off, then. Because seriously? Reading? Srs bsns? What do you think I am, some kind of politico-pony? ...Not so much. In fact, I kind of doubt anyone's still reading this article. Let's face it, reading sucks, but Congress should be open to all, even a silly pony like me.

So get ready, Congress, because the ponies are coming ! Vote for me and I'll write weekly updates on what I've seen and/or done in Congress that you won't read. Sound good?

Apples, Love, Friendship and other randomly associated concepts for all!

Until next time, sAmerica,
~Astra

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
