Greetings all,

Lately this server (game really) has been experiencing numerous bugs and problems. We still can't train for day 2440, I was unable to work a couple days ago, and everywhere you turn there's a new bug. It's frustrating. So frustrating it's prompted several players to make ultimatums and (reasonable) demands. One of my all time favorite writers from the "good o'l days" Orlandio even weighed in by referencing one of those "ultimatum" articles written by Alpay .

The demands, as I already said, are reasonable. However, we all know nothing is going to change except yet another speed server or maybe even another server all together.

When I began playing this was the only server (yeah, we were e-sim.org ). There were several thousand players, and we had a heck of a good time! But sadly we (who were here at the time) know what happened. There was a new server, then a reset, then more bugs, buy gold, the more bugs, then baby booms, then more bugs and you get the picture...

So without boring you with the details, here we are today. The server is for the most part dead, and there is little hope of it ever coming alive again. So now we have to ask ourselves why we even bother.

Well, I've asked myself and this is my answer.

I bother logging on because I found a virtual family that extends several continents and are of many different backgrounds. I log on because for over 6 years 5pm US central time meant "it's time to train/work again." I log on because for over 6 years It's become a part of my routine and daily schedule.

However, sadly I no longer log on because I'm having fun. Frankly I lost interest in this game a little over 2 years ago. This isn't the same e-sim I fell in love with. Most of the players are long gone, I've accomplished everything in game that I ever wanted to accomplish, so frankly there is no reason for me to log on anymore.

Except, there is just one... And that reason is you guys.

Over the last couple years I found that all the bugs, all the ignoring from admin, all the constant reminders that we are not important, all those things are not strong enough to keep me from looking forward to logging on and seeing you guys. Many of you being famous across the sever, others maybe only known within their respective MU's, but still important to the game and me personally.

There's Xavier3 who has sent me a message EVER SINGLE ELECTION for over 3 years to let me know he voted for me. There's Sir Hypnotoad who passive aggressively reminds me to include him in all my articles .
There's Getulio Vargas 2 who used to love me and like all my shouts . GENERAL BETANCOURT who was always willing to reach out and give advice while I was dealing with international issues. I K E A who never quits and along with Fransharry , Mordax Rottmayr and others we never have to worry about having enough damage to finish a round. There were the jokes made by paranoidmelon about yankees42 and I needing to be in congress together so we could have a "Subway Series" (you euro's can look that one up ). Dang I could just go on and on... Liquid HOMICIDE who taught me how to be a CP, smecherturk who was always willing to use his resources to help, and I havn't even mentioned all the old guys who no longer/rarely play (guys like Jason, Tosh, Rush, Fionia and soooo many others).

The memories, the good times, the friendships... That is why I log on every day.

Memories and nostalgia have kept this game alive for me, and it is players like you guys (and the dozens I didn't mention for sake of space) that have made me resign myself to the fact that I don't care if admin doesn't care about us. I don't care that I can no longer reliably hit in a round without the whole server crapping out. I don't care that the bugs are getting worse by the moment. What I do care about is logging in, and seeing all you guys trying to make the best of what once was a glorious server.

So in closing, no I'm not going anywhere. My days of ultimatums and hoping somethings might change are over, but my days logging in and waiting for an adventure with so many good friends have yet to expire.

Thanks for the good times, and best wishes! o7

PS. Sorry to all my friends I didn't mention, but you know I love you anyway

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
