Hi there, today I've got a great interview for you. It's an interview with RAILMAN, the administrator and founder of e-Sim! (For the ones who didn't know it, Railman is Admin 's nickname)

First of all, I want to thank him for his time, and for being so friendly with me!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BETANCOURT: Hello Kacper, thanks for the oportunity. Let's start with a short introduction of yourself!

RAILMAN: I'm Kacper, I'm 32 years old, I'm founder of e-sim. Personally my hobby is programming, dancing, gym. Currently we have team of devoted developers working on e-sim

BETANCOURT: Well, we will start with your plans for the future. What's the future of E-Sim? Are we going to see changes in a few years or months? Are you satisfaced with the game?

RAILMAN: Right now the biggest change for e-sim will be adding new kind of tournaments, including the racing one (we will use this game and make some sort of e-sport: racegame.io). When we started suburbia we also tried Discord as Irc alternative and it seems its working fine - we will try to make it more popular on other servers. of course I'm satisfied in the game! This game changed my life - thanks to e-sim I had opportunity to meet many interesting people: players, moderators, developers, other game makers. Interaction with so many people gives you great opportunity to develop your personality (including haters ), see their point of view, experience different kind of attitudes and emotions

BETANCOURT: Nice, Some weeks ago, a mate made an article with a poll, asking if they would agree to merge every server into one. More than 150 players voted. And the "yes" won with the 75% aprox. Is it possible to make a merge between all permanent servers?

RAILMAN: doing so mean we are going to lose history of two servers - we will have to transfer all the data into one server. There will be lots of technical problems like, what to do with conflicting Identificators, what to do if two players use same e-mail. What if we ban player on one server and he ask for appeal. We decided not to do so, because it would be very costly and time consuming for our team

BETANCOURT: I understand. Some people often critizes you all the time, they question your activity and interest for the game. What's your messege for them?

RAILMAN: I'm too busy with my life and with e-sim to deal with them Its normal that some people criticize others for no reason, but fortunately its just a minority. Our team is working very hard on e-sim every day - fixing bugs, making more features, dealing with servers and etc. The game is a huge piece of code and hundreds GB of databases, several servers, domains, mailers, pushed, mobile app, and blah blah blah blah.... I guess we would be able to build the whole apartment building for the effort we put in e-sim, lol

BETANCOURT: That's for sure. What do you think about temporal servers? I stay in IRC channels, and as I am GO I meet a lot of people. Some of them, specially old players think that temp servers cause inactivity in permanent servers. What's your opinion?

RAILMAN: In my opinion making temporary servers gives new players and opportunity to start on the same level as other players. It greatly increases conversion for new players to stay in the game. There are 'other' games like e-sim and if you watch them you will notice their popularity is slowly decreasing... These games have good start, but later noone new wants to register there.

BETANCOURT: Well. Last questions. According to our polls, 37% of players is under 18. What's your messege for them

RAILMAN: oh, thats a hard one - everyone has their own problems, their own weaknesses and strengths. one guy is too fat and starts putting on weight as soon he see a donuts, other guy is skinny although eating like an elefant. Generally the main problem I see is materialism - people working so hard to buy new car, big house, expensive clothes and others. These things are not going to make you happy or bring you more friends, or make you better parent. I prefer minimalism, when you work less you have time for hobbies, family, friends, wife. Money is very important thing in life, people should earn lot of money, but if you invest it and then get return of your capital you can work less and less... having more time for other things
at some point you can quit your job and do whatever you like for the rest of your life. What do you prefer - livin in a small house and old car and not work at all, OR living in a big one, driving ferrari and work for these toys for 40 hours per week

BETANCOURT: Admin is Pepe Mujica!!!!! (?)

RAILMAN: ah, that president, yeah I liked him. I was inspired by Jews who were living in Poland before they got extermined. Some of them had lot of money, they built apartment houses - they lived in one flat and others flats were giving them profits

BETANCOURT: Yes. Your point is clear. So, the last question. What's your dream? What do you want for your future?

RAILMAN: thats just a casual one - just having a happy family life. If you ask for career, at some point I would like to renovate such old apartment house and transfer it into home with microapartments

BETANCOURT: Okey! That's all. Thank you very much for your time! I apreciate it a lot!! And have a nice day! I hope to see you soon.

RAILMAN: thank you for your time - have a great day! I enjoyed this interview so much

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
