שאלה ראשונה: איך זה להיות הרמטכ"ל של צה"ל? כמה זה קשה?
קודם כל,תודה ירין שבחרת לראיין אותי זה מחמיא לי מאוד
לגבי התפקיד שלי,בכלל לא ציפיתי להיות הרמטכ”ל החודש כשאבישי בישר לי שאני אהיה הרמטכ”ל הלב שלי קפץ לשמים.בתור שחקן שבאותו יום היה בערך שבועים במשחק זה היה מאוד מפתיע.
התפקיד הוא לא קל במיוחד כשצריך להעביר רפורמה שתשנה את כל צה”ל מהיסוד.
אם לא אנשים כמו מיכה ונבו כנראה שעדין לא היתה רפורמה.

שאלה שנייה: מה היה רגע השפל שלך?
לא זכור לי רגע שפל בזמן הקצר שבו אני מפקד על צה”ל,מה שכן קצת מעצבן שכל פעם אני מוצא בעיה חדשה שצריך לפתור כדי שהרפורמה תעבוד,בזמן שבנינו אותה ובזמן שהיא עובדת כל פעם אנחנו משנים אותה בדברים קטנים שאולי לא משפיעים הרבה אבל הופכים אותה לפרקטית יותר.

שאלה שלישית: מה היה רגע השיא שלך?
ההכרזה על חטיבת האמונים.כשהכרזתי עליה זה היה הדבר הראשון שעשיתי כרמטכ”ל,מאוד שמחתי
כי ידעתי שעכשיו יש בסיס והשאר יהיה קל.כיום בחטיבת האמונים לדעתי יש כ15-16 חיילים אם לא יותר ששני הסרנים חן ורון ואלוף החטיבה מיכה ממונים עליהם ותפקדים לתת להם את הבסיס הדרוש להבנת המשחק והתקדמות בצה”ל.בתור סרן בפלוגת אמונים להיות אחראי על 8-10 חיילים זה לא קל כי בדרך יש גם שאלות שצריך לענות עליהן ולדאוג שהשחקנים פעילים כל רגע.

הבנתי שאני רוצה תפקיד משמעותי בצה”ל בכתבה שלי להצעות לשיפור צה”ל,הייתי עדין שחקן חדש אבל עם הרבה נסיון מאירפובליק ורציתי לשנות המון דברים בגוף שלא הבנתי איך הוא עובד כמעט.כשהצטרפתי לא ידעתי כמעט כלום על מה שהולך ולמדתי עם הזמן ואני עדין לומד בזמן תפקודי כרמטכ”ל.

שאלה חמישית: מה הרגשת ברגע שהבנת שאתה הרמטכ"ל?
כמו שאמרתי להיות רמטכ”ל היתה התגשמות חלום בתוך זמן כה קצר להגיע לתפקיד כה גבוה
מישהו אמר לי באחת השיחות בפרטי “רואים עליך שלהיות רמטכ”ל לא יספק אותך אתה רוצה לשאוף לעוד” זה לא ממש ציטוט אבל זה בערך מה שהוא אמר.כשהתמנתי ברפורמה תחת אבישי להיות אלוף חטיבת האמונים ידעתי שיש לאן לשאוף וצריך להוכיח את עצמי. ואז בקדנציה שלו כנשיא התמנתי לרמטכ”ל ואני עדין שואף למקומות גבוהים יותר ואני רוצה שכל המדינה תשאף כמה שיותר גבוה,הוכחנו שאנחנו לא סתם נקודה על המפה ולא ילדי הכאפות של מעצמה תודות לאבישי ותודות למאמצים של כל החיילים ושל הפיקוד שאני מודה כל יום שאני עובד עם אנשים כאלה.

שאלה שישית: איך היה הקרב מול בולגריה? באיזו אסטרטגיה השתמשת?
הקרב על מישור החוף היה בתחילת הקדנציה שלי,הוא קטע לי את כל התכניות לרפורמה והייתי צריך לחשוב מהר.הייתי חסר נסיון למרות שהכרתי את מערכת הלחימה ואיך היא עובדת.למזלי עמדו שם לצידי מיכה ואבישי ונבו בעלי נסיון גדול במשחק ועזרו לי בחלק גדול מהזמן,מי שאני נותן להם את הקרדיט על המערכה אני הייתי שם רק חלק קטן מהזמן להגיד מתי לתקוף כשלא היה מישהו שיכול לפקד בצ’אט.
זו היתה הטבילה הראשונה שלי והיא היתה מוקדמת מאוד,אני לא מחשיב אותה להצלחה שלי כי לא עשיתי הרבה ואני עדין מחכה למשהו רציני יותר כדי לבדוק את היכולות שלי.
