于是，在对黑死病的恐惧和教会的宣扬之下，欧洲人终于进入了一个全民不洗澡的“臭气熏天时代”
——曾经生意兴隆的公共浴室，全都被火速关闭，人们不到万不得已绝对不沾水。洗澡被当作一种酷刑和医疗手段，医治的对象则是精神病患者……类似现代的杨教授用电击疗法治网瘾。
根据医嘱，贵族们为清洁起见，每天早晨用一块干燥的白布擦擦脸，但是绝对不用水洗——欧洲的庸医们建议人们只用干燥的白布清洁脸和眼睛。因为用水清洗有损视力，会引起牙病和感冒，使脸色苍白，而且对天气的冷热更加敏感……
哪怕是到了17世纪的法王路易十四统治时期，如果没有医生的吩咐，最爱干净的法国贵妇人每年也仅洗两次澡，平时主要用干毛巾擦身。
而法王路易十四本人也要在医生的指导下谨慎地沐浴，从1647年到1711年的64年间才洗过一次澡，这一惊人记录，迄今依然被保留在路易十四的御医每天为他做的身体状况的详细笔记上。
到了18世纪，法王路易十五一生只洗了三次澡，一是诞生日，二是大婚日，三则是入殓。
（唉，想想路易十五那位著名情妇蓬巴杜夫人还真是可怜，每天要跟这么一块臭气熏天的腐肉上床。）
但人不洗澡就要发臭，而欧洲人似乎还没有变态到以臭为美的程度——在法国，“整个贵族阶级，甚至国王身的臭气就像猛兽一样，王后的气味又像一只老山羊一样，夏天和冬天都是如此。”
于是，法国人只好潜心研究香水——香水最早发明于古代印度和波斯，而在欧洲，则是由继承了古罗马遗产的意大利人，建立起了第一批生产香水的作坊。
但法国的香水工艺一直很落后，直到后来才突然繁荣起来……因为大家都不洗澡了！
这样严酷的生存环境，自然使得香水成为生活必需品！
——法国贵族们先是大量从意大利进口香水，然后觉得这样不划算，便自己琢磨着开办香水作坊。在路易十六的年代，更是动用举国之力将意大利香水工业高手挖过来，一举奠定法国香水工业的基础。
到了拿破仑时期，热爱科学的拿破仑鼓励科学家投入对有机化学的研究，从而使法国的香水工业开始引领世界潮流，直到今天……
但是要注意的是，全欧洲基本上只有笃信天主教的法国人和西班牙人，才在禁止洗澡方面搞得这么变态。其他国家从16、17世纪开始，又开始慢慢地恢复了洗澡的习惯，尤其是新教国家，通常恢复得最早。
而西班牙人由于有很多殖民地位于热带，普通人到了那边不洗澡根本活不下去，所以在洗澡禁令上也不如法国人执行得严格。法国人却一直撑到了18世纪后期的大革命前夕，才基本废弛了洗澡禁令。
因此，在中世纪末期的欧洲，后世号称优雅典范的法国人，实际上却是全欧洲卫生习惯最糟糕的。油画里那些文质彬彬的法国绅士和淑女，其实都是肉体上充满污垢、头发里爬满虱子的邋遢鬼，全仗着香水来解决问题。要是把衣服都脱了，现代的不少乞丐都绝对比他们干净！
举个例子来说，5世纪的英国传奇亚瑟王和14世纪的法国圣女贞德，虽然相隔近千年，但我敢打赌亚瑟王的身上肯定比贞德干净——既然是圣女，怎么能堕落腐败地洗澡呢？
所以，贞德这个男人婆估计不用香水也不洗澡……再加上皮革味，马粪味，血腥臭……那些兴冲冲跑过去向她要签名的穿越者，千万得小心别给熏得一个跟头晕过去！
（附带一提，贞德好像不识字，不过自己的名字大概还是会写的吧！）
相反，在亚瑟王的年代，古罗马帝国的洗澡传统和遗留的浴场，估计还没有完全崩坏。
综上所述，中世纪前期的欧洲人不洗澡，主要是出于经济上的贫穷和卫生上的不讲究，对于经济上不成问题的贵族来说，纯属个人爱好的区别——有人很喜欢洗澡，也有人很讨厌洗澡。
在身份尊崇的贵族骑士造访某座城堡的时候，女主人不仅要安排宴席，如果客人提出要求的话，还要准备沐浴的热水和花瓣香料。在爱尔兰地区，还有着城堡的女主人要亲自陪同客人沐浴以显示热情的风俗。
但当时的欧洲人并不以浑身肮脏为耻，所以喜不喜欢洗澡就跟我们现在抽不抽烟一样，请客人洗澡也跟请客人抽烟一个概念，愿不愿意洗澡是客人的自由。不过，那年头讨厌洗澡的贵族似乎比较多……
穿越到那个时期，只要你有钱置办豪华浴室，想要天天洗澡并不困难，最多被人说是太奢侈太堕落。
到了中世纪的中后期，由于十字军从东方带来的新时尚，以及维京海盗的贡献，各种沐浴方式在欧洲一度蔚然成风，只要有钱就能洗澡，还附带餐饮和色情服务，太穷的人则不管在哪个时代都很脏。
当然，前提是你不能去教会当神职人员，否则若是没点背景和靠山，就绝对不能破戒去洗澡了。
最后，如果你不幸穿越到了黑死病爆发之后的中世纪末期，直至17世纪之前的近代西欧，那么你可就太惨了！由于对黑死病的恐惧，当时欧洲人对洗澡的痛恨程度，是我们现代人根本无法想象的。
在最危险的年代里，如果你背着别人偷偷洗澡被发现的话，小心让正愁缺少替罪羊的牧师们给载上一个天大的黑锅，诬陷成传播瘟疫的女巫或巫师，然后被愤怒的民众绑到柴堆上用火烧掉啊！
就算你手脚灵敏，可以偷偷洗澡而不被发现，但其他人可不会为了迎合你的喜好，而“冒着生命危险”去洗澡。于是，在你的城堡里，到处都是几十年没洗过澡的人形垃圾堆……生活在这种悲催的环境下，根本就不用刺客来暗杀，只要在吩咐事情的时候，让他们往你身边一凑，恐怕不出十分钟，你就能被这些人型移动毒气弹给打发到天堂，跟那位安排你穿越到中世纪的衰神大人抱怨去了。
由于在这个年头，整个欧洲的女人，除了犹太人和伊斯兰教徒之外，全都是臭气熏天的，你说不定还会因此对女人失去兴趣——想想看，当你浓情蜜意地呼唤着恋人的名字，百般奉承讨好，好不容易逗得她咧嘴一笑，却当即露出满口参差不齐的坏牙，从红唇中喷出宛如粪坑的吐息……
嗯嗯，突然有点理解在那个黑暗的中世纪，为什么会有这样多的王子和国王喜欢搞基，还有阿拉伯女奴为什么这样受欢迎了……

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
