As I announced in an earlier article, I will be leaving this game on October 1 because of the coming reset. Before I go, I wanted to collect the stories and insights from some of my friends and well-known e-Sim players. The result has been this mass-interview which I hope you will enjoy reading.

Note: I’ve done my best to correct any minor spelling and formatting issues, but these answers are direct quotes.

How did you discover e-Sim and what made you want to join?

Orlandio I was recruited from another game by Phobas . It seemed like a very difficult game in the very first days, mainly because of the terrible graphics. I was already playing eRep back then and the only reason i stayed in this game was that it didn't have buy gold (which had ruined eRep by then), therefore i could be "somewhat" equal to everyone - because i knew that everyone had to start with nothing. Another thing that highly captivated me was the stock company module.

met3_ I was a very weird 18 year old, and searched for games that allowed you to run for Congress. After several searches on Google I came across this game (it was simply "e-Sim" at the time, none of this "Primera-Secura-Suna" crap) and decided to play. I joined just a couple days before my 19th birthday (Feb 22) so you can guess what happened... I ran for Congress after just a week playing, received 3 votes and came in 21st lol

Shepherd Of Fire A friend of mine named Zetch

law7441 I joined e-Sim through site called gateworld.net

What parts of the game do you most enjoy?

Orlandio I've gotten slightly fed up with the game (not even because of the reset thing, I’m less against it than you might think) these times. It's probably because I've played for so long and achieved so much that the game becomes less and less intriguing and therefore less fun to play. However, I will keep loyal to my readers and will stick around. Even if I can't answer all the letters, i will try to address my articles towards people that I feel need it atm. That's what keeps me playing and i guess satisfies me nowadays - to use the people that have trusted me for a greater progress of this game.

met3_ When I started, it was about politics. Nothing more, nothing less. The more I played the more I enjoyed being a part of a Military Unit, with that love growing even more when I was given command of Band of Brothers Infantry (now Crusaderz) and later Band of Brothers Elite.

I bought my first company back in late 2012, and found a new love... I really have come to enjoy the Iron market on e-Sim. Its stability, fair return, limited risk, and high demand make it one of the best investments of the game in my opinion (ummm, that was free btw, I will get back on topic now ). The more money I made, and the more political influence I achieved, the more I wanted to give away. Kinda odd, but I guess you can say the one thing I enjoy more than anything is finding a way to help people. Though I do not do as much as many others playing the game, I truly enjoy finding some random person and helping them as much as I can. This game has in many respects become a picture of what I hope to accomplish one day.

Shepherd Of Fire War, always war.

law7441 One thing I enjoyed about the game was the fact I challenge of catching other people up who way ahead of me in the game, I enjoy running my stock company.

Do you have any goals to accomplish before the reset? After?

Orlandio I don't know about goals, I've really ran out of goals. Admin promised us new achievements and whatnot, we will see. As soon as the prices for equipment go down again I will definitely try to acquire some nice lucky charms and a pair of boots. As for the newspaper, i have nothing to look up to anymore. I've got 10 times the subs I wanted, I have all the achievements you can get for votes and subs. So i don't have any specific "goals" on this, my only mission is to write articles that no one else have dared to, to make a point with them, and to hope my readers are reading them and thinking with me.

met3_ It "was" to give away 1000g before Christmas (gave away 738g year to date) but with the reset I may have to postpone that until latter. Honestly, this whole reset thing is making me re-evaluate some things. I still hope to continue helping the nation, but will have to become reacquainted with being a "new" player before I make any big goals.

Shepherd Of Fire Before no. After to become the best MU on Primera.

law7441 I had fair few goal before these reset was planned, like building a stock company into top 3 one, getting damage level up a lot more and trying to build MU from the start. But those were long term goals. Because of the reset I have 0 goal left to do now, as found the game pointless.

How do you think the reset will affect the game?

Orlandio Let's say this. I think reset could be good for Admin and for the population of this game, up until a point where people start leaving again. However, I think it's a stab in the back for the community that has already showed their loyalty to this game. A lot of good loyal players are leaving, we're losing magnificent people. The rich players that we have now will be richer than ever after the reset happens and market goes unbalanced at some places for a while. I think the gap between old and new players will be higher than ever, while we lose a lot of good unselfish players. If I were the Admin I would think hard before laying such costs on my game. Apparently he's in money problems though, so reset might be the only way out he sees atm.

met3_ It will affect the game far more than anyone thinks. It depends on your view on whether that will be interpreted as good or bad. I for one feel it will be bad for the server for these reasons.

No. 1 No desire to find success. Why would I play a game with as much passion as before when I know in the end everyone will be equal in skill, rank, and econ level? If removing the benefits/incentives of success can kill a RL economy, I imagine it will do the same to a game.

No. 2 The reason many of us played "only" Primera is because we were proud of what we become, and wanted to remain in the "real" e-Sim. That passion, for me anyways, though not gone is very much deflated. If I wanted to start all over again I would have poured myself into Suna or Secura, but Primera was the server I grew to love e-Sim on, and it was the only place I wanted to experience e-Sim.

If you feel starting fresh with mostly new players is good, then you will feel the reset is good. I for one will miss the friendship, and guidance of the older players that will move on.
I for one will be staying, but it will be a brand new world...

Shepherd Of Fire In a positive way.

law7441 I 100% believe it destroy the game, it not change anything except make a lot of people leave and ones in the game atm we got items and gold built up will pretty much mean thing be back to what is now within few months. Also I believe it not give admin anymore money as most not see point to spent money to catch when all admin does is reset server.

What is a fun or strange fact that most people don't know about you?

Orlandio Well, first of all, i'm a girl. Just kidding. Well, I’m not sure if this will satisfy your readers but it will definitely disappoint those who think I’m spending a lot of effort on my articles. Actually I try not to spend more than 10 or 15 minutes per article. I'm a fast writer so 10 minutes equals a nice wall of text

met3_ I LOVE Classical Music! Though I am a novice now, I hope to one day play each of Beethoven's Piano Concertos perfectly. Oh for one day

Shepherd Of Fire Lol, I love to be hated.

law7441 I am pretty boring to be honest, only thing most probably not know out the same people is that gay.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
