After almost 3 months I'm back in interview business. My first comeback-interview is with Rytazas who discusses the origins and ambitions of a new two-alliances-in-one The Federation . I hope you learn something about this new "union" and remember to spam me with suggestions about whom to interview next. Orlandio
1. Greetings Rytazas , general secretary of a union called The Federation. 1. Good day Orlandio , greatest writer in e-sim.
2. Thank you for the compliment. Straight to the important question though - what is The Federation and why are you separated into 2 alliances? 2. As you already said The Federation is a union of two alliances, who decided to work and reach their goals together. At first, we were thinking of starting it just as one common alliance, but found it a bit too problematic. As you might know, currently we have 13 official members and are open for new ones. To control such a number isn't an easy job, having in mind that some of those countries were (for some people still are) sworn enemies. In order to make the life easier and more peaceful for everyone, we decided to split it into two parts, regarding their geopolitical position, goals and relations. I know that it might be difficult to understand for some individuals, but the machine is going well so far and we managed to avoid any major conflicts.
3. How is it different from one big alliance? 3. By almost everything, we have two different channels, though our members can meet each other at any time if they wish so, we have different priorities, sometimes it can be common too. We have 2 different HQ's, just me and Kriegsgott are working on both sides as the link between the two sides. Having separate HQ's helps us to control everything a bit easier, by expanding the number of workers without teams / countries interfering each other business. There are a lot more things, but I would prefer to not go into the details here.
4. So the question rises - how are you any different from 2 separate alliances that share a few common enemies? 4. We found this question important too before creating our alliance. This is where me (General Secretary) and Kriegsgott (my vice) show up. Our job is to keep the link between the two sides and therefore, we got the same power, at some cases even bigger, as any of the SC's of the teams. We are helping for teams to take the common decisions (won't specify them, but you can get the main idea), to interact with each other and, if something would go wrong, regrouping or even disbanding is up to us too. At the same time we are trying to not interfere any of the teams work, till we see it as unavoidable action.
5. Who founded The Federation and which people are currently amongst the management team? 5. The idea was originally born in Kriegsgott 's head, he wanted to create something like old WiC+TS alliances. From that point I took the idea and transformed it into the alliance you can see now. If we are talking about gathering countries for this project, I and Kriegsgott worked on it too. So far the major team is created with me as General Secretary, Kriegsgott as vice General Secretary, dane as Supreme Commander of The Patriots (and his vice Aethos ) and DarkDwain as Supreme Commander of NT4F (and his vice tadej007 ). We are working on something what you could call a "council" principle, so these mentioned players are the most important ones. Rest of the workers are only important in their own teams.
6. What do the SCs and their vices handle in the alliances? 6. SCs and their vSCs are only responsible for their own teams, like in any other alliance. Which means - taking on daily affairs of the team, managing the team channel, helping MCs with setting priorities, scheduling and handling team meetings, controlling the overall work of the team. vSCs are helping SCs with their job and are able to cover them if it's needed. All together we are taking some decisions in a principle of council, means discussing and voting for them, best example for it would be a new membership.
7. Why did you become the leader of The Federation instead of - let's say - Kriegsgott ? 7. General Secretary is elected by all the 13 members of the union, I guess we should give this question to them.
8. How often are the elections and how many votes did you get (if it's not confidential)? 8. Elections are being held every month after CP elections (except the last ones which we managed to start just before, though not many leaders changed) or it can be done at any time on request of members (need 7 or more requests). I received 8 votes in the elections.
9. What are the biggest decisions you've already had to make within the union? 9. Rejecting couple of joining requests, giving few warnings for countries or HQ members, nothing too big yet. As I said, our machine is running well so far and I'm very happy about that.
10. What ambitions does The Federation have for the future? 10. Ambitions... To grow up big enough so we could be able to fight J4F+China while being equal enemies, give some more balance to this game. Perfectly would be if every member held their core regions.
11. What would you say to those people of The Federation that are skeptical about the whole idea? 11. To have more faith in us. We are doing everything what we are able to in order to bring your country to the top, every country. We have to fight against a stronger opponent and already managed to make a good start. I want to kindly ask your support, support for us and support for your own governments. We might be weaker in power, but not in spirit. For those who were hoping for immediate fireworks, give us some time. This is totally new project and needs some time to find the right path. Lastly, give a chance for the ones who used to be your enemies in the past, there is no place for hate in our alliance.
12. Thank you for this message and the interview, Rytazas . Hail The Federation! 12. It was an honor for me to answer your questions. Hail The Federation!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
