So, I've got beef with this advertizing push the Admin team has been crowd-sourcing.
But, first, I want to ask you something.

Take a look at these two pictures.

The USA is a prosperous country always growing by leaps and bounds, but it could do better with you. New wars and alliances break out with new things on the horizon right now. Join now !

Did you know that 85% of all Canadians have a mineral shortage in their diet? Find out how you can help them be more and better than they were yesterday, whether they want to or not. e-Sim USA Protecting the World from itself.

Objectively speaking, which is the better advertizing piece?

The first is from Sivle and the second is mine. His was accepted and mine is still 'Open', which should be read as 'Actively being ignored'.

Now, I'm not trying to hate on his work and I'm glad his got accepted.

But, again objectively, what the actual f***?

I put over an hour into mine and, I'm not claiming to be Van Gogh, but as far as free advertizing pieces go I think it's pretty damn good. His is, literally, a generic message written in comic sans on the Statue of Liberty.

Let me go through this chronologically, for you.

The first time I submitted it was before there was an in-game submission page (Located Here , if you're not from the US, you'll see your own countries and not the ones I've submitted, but whatever), but it was exactly the same thing.

Then they introduced the in-game submission page and I see Silve's already got one submitted.

I re-read the article and it says it wants specifics about the goings on in your country. This confuses me because, as a nation, our friendly rivalry with Canada is one of the things that defines is. That's what the 'mineral shortage' line is about, it's an inside joke we have. We occasionally all get rowdy and start donating a bunch of stones (we interpret as 'throwing rocks') to Canadian citizens with funny messages.

Sure, no one who reads it and isn't already part of the community is going to get it, but that's the hook. 'Weird, I wonder that that means? *click*' They're certainly not going to get any specific statements I make about the goings on in the game and that's kind of what makes it such a silly thing to require, in the first place.

So, a little frustrated now, I resubmit the image with a different phrase, referencing my frustration and the absurdity of what's being asked.

We're in the Water Temple! Help us find the Iron Boots!

Pretty much any gamer that's been around a while recognizes that is a reference to the infamous Water Temple in Ocarina of Time. The joke I'm making is, 'Well, this makes as much sense out-of-context as anything else I could say' and as an homage to being frustrated.

That one is still open (not rejected, for some reason, but I really think it's a great advertisement. I'd click that, just for the 'lol what?' disconnect between the picture and zelda reference).

Then, after about an hour, I cool of and say 'Alright, maybe the last one I submitted got lost or something. I'll resubmit it for serious, this time.'

About a month later, I check back.

Sivle's submitted another one and it's been accepted, along with his last one. Mine are both still 'Open'.

The USA needs your help. With victories all over the place we are doing great ! New conquests and battles, and we just need you to finish it off.

What does a baby lion have to do with anything? What does this say that is specific about the happenings in the US?

At this point, I'm kinda pissed.

If you know anything about the US community, this is how we roll. Uncle Sam. Tanks flanking the House of Congress. 'Pax Americana'. "Protecting the world from itself!" After all, that's the popular real world perception of American foreign Policy, right? It all plays into the tough-as-nails, here-to-get-s***-done perception we have of our selves, even if I honestly mean it satirically. Even that level of satire is part of it, which I think a lot of foreigners don't understand.

Honestly, you guys, when you see Americans being all 'F*** Yeah! 'Murica!' at you, we're mostly just trolling. Just some valuable cultural information for you.

So, anyway.

Like I said, now I'm legitimately irritated and I make another really sarcastic submission

HI THE USA IS THINGS AND STUFF WE NEED YOU FOR STUFF JOIN NOW WE ARE MUCHLY OF VICTORY NOW AND MORE SO FROM YOU HERE IS CUTE ANIMAL GAME STAFF IS ALSO VERY FAIR

I'm talking to Kitmen about this and he says, 'You should submit a doge meme one with a really generic message.' I like this idea so I spend some time photoshopping like I do and submit this:

America can use your help, war is coming and all eyes are on us, on you!

Now, both of these were rightly rejected (since they were submitted during the last 'Demotivational Poster' contest, and neither are that), although I have been told the doge one was better than Sivle's submissions.

We've got another contest started, now and I've submitted yet another entry that I am beginning to feel are being actively ignored. The topic is Politics which... I don't even know what to say to that. How are we supposed to say anything in 250 characters that's going to make an ounce of sense to someone who's never even logged into eSim?

So, I submitted this.

Some countries argue the pro's and con's of every issue and eventually come to a compromise that can please everyone. They call it Politics. In the United States, we let Asuka decide

Arrogant? Yeah, probably. But that's a pretty accurate reflection of our political situation. I and the people who run the US have s*** under control and the voters know this and trust us to make those decisions. The 'Asuka' joke is one I didn't even start, but that's how we roll. Other countries are bitterly divided. In the US, we're all on the same team.

Actually, I submitted it three times, but for some reason it kept tinting blue when I uploaded it so I resized and then it worked. Go figure.

Anyway, I don't know what the deal is. Maybe railman just doesn't like me and, honestly, I wouldn't blame him. I'm loud, demanding an not afraid to be more than a bit critical. In fact, after he opened Suna I went into the support chat and called him a f***ing idiot and left. Not so nice of me, sure, but I stand by my opinion that Suna was a f***ing stupid idea. I stand behind it because it is, objectively, a f***ing stupid idea. Suna is a f***ing stupid idea. Fact.

But, on the other hand, when the rest of the community howls about how he's a money grubber and a sell out and whatever it is they think is so wrong about railman making money, I've defended him. Because it's okay for him to make money and I hope he does make money, because I like eSim and, you know what? Gold Buying doesn't unbalance the game. railman could do a lot of things that would really push gold buy and would really unbalance the game, but he hasn't. So, you should all cut him some slack. Yeah, he doesn't always make great decisions but that's life.

And railman, for f***s sake, my country needs people. Accept my advertizing. I don't even care if I never get sign-up bonuses or credit or anything. We just need people and that's what really makes me mad about this. The stuff you accepted from the US looks lazy and we're just going to keep dwindling until you either make something decent or accept the decent work I already did for you for free.

P.S. Really, Sivle. I'm not meaning to pick on your work here and congratulations for getting your submissions accepted.

Love,

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
