I am leaving this game next Wednesday for at least 3 months. So I guess I cannot be charged with trying to gain political power/influence with this article. I am just trying to resume what and why happened here over the past couple of weeks.
First of all I want to place Ireland on the map of e-sim. It is a nice little island in the Atlantic Ocean. On the edge of the influential zones of two superpowers (USA, Lithuania) and two other countries that are a lot stronger than Ireland (Portugal, UK). With this made clear I think it is pretty obvious what we did to ourself when we chased Xerox and possibly Mac Vasco away.
So what keeps this small island afloat? Why haven't we sank like the UK has? Lithuania, Portugal and the USA both have the power to easily take and keep our territories. Why are (were) we a chewy bite? Because we have friends. Not allies, like how Marcus Suridius signed an MPP with Bosnia, a non-existant power, but real and true friends. Who came here and protected us when we needed them. We couldn't have kept Northern Ireland without the support of Lithuania and Spain (how curious, Vasco is Spanish, Xerox is Lithuanian IRL). Of course you can never get more from a relationship than what you put in it. So from time to time they ask us for favors, like we did. A temporary route to Portugal, for example. Will these friends stay with us after those who actually maintained our diplomatical relations left? I have a guess but I think you are wise enough to have your own.
So about the past weeks...
Was Vasco a really outstanding president? No. His term did not bring us colonies, extreme wealth or joyous experiences. Was Vasco a way above than average president? Yes. Let's see the term of Hazey410 . He did not show up on alliance meetings even though everyone knows that diplomacy is the most important thing for a sIrish president. How about Mr. corey french ? Is there anyone who thinks that he made a good president? E-sim is played on IRC, not ingame. He didn't even know how to register a nick there (it takes like half a minute to find it with google, btw). Now DUB was a decent president.
Did Vasco's presidential job create dissent in our society? Yes. Was there anything that could've been called a society before his term? No. Now at least we have Sam Lord , Marcus and other guys who are arguing about gov decisions. The only way to go forward is to argue, but within a zone of sense. We have left this zone long ago. I am not saying that Vasco's communication is perfect or even good. He leaves most of our community clueless, that has to be said. I am not satisfied with his term. But he knows how diplomacy and intrigues work and how wars are won. To me it seems that his opposition does not. Therefore Vasco is clearly still the best choice and I can only hope that he decides to stay and run for another term.
So what do I suggest to you? To keep arguing about decisions, ideas and plans. But never leave the zone of sense, always know where the limit you should never cross is. If you go too far, you will push us backwards. There are already huge dangers in and around Ireland. Portugal is already planning an invasion, Petrol (kamalccna ) has already started his first wave of multis, his pal, filau , got into our congress with 10!!! votes. A guy who has never ever done anything of importance for Ireland in the field of politics. And he is the most popular guy? I hardly think so. Watch out, keep reporting the multis. And, most importantly, have active guys on irc who can keep up the good relations with our friends. Because from time to time we need to be saved by our friends.
Now, at the end of my article I have to make clear that I have a good opinion about nearly everyone mentioned in this article. I admire how Marcus prevented Ireland from turning into a chaotic country and being taken advantage of. I also have to admit that Hazey has done a nice and important job in his earlier terms and to be fair I have to state it that he didn't have decent Internet connection under his term. Mr. Corey may be too naive for politics and not president material but he wants good for Ireland.
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
