A day or two ago Orinocco asked (theoretically) a vital question. "Why aren't we negotiating with Lithuania?". It's a very legit questions which deserves an official answer. I think like Orinocco (assumption) that we can't fight the Liths during a longer period of time, and primarily, we can't fight our way at the moment to freedom. We can sustain an sovereign nation, we can't protect its borders from alien invaders, a.k.a. Lithuania.
So negotiations are a legit thought. If you can use the sword, use the pen.
But... there is a problem, and instead of writing an explanation of this myself, I'll simply just quote about a half a page from Gene Sharp's "From dictatorship to democracy" (keep an eye on Gene, future Nobel Peace Prize???), which is an extraordinary good book. It can be applied to most conflicts, it's interesting, having read it makes you look good in political forums, it's thought-worthy, etc etc etc. And I'm too lazy to rewrite what he's already written.
The quote;
Power and Justice in negotiations
[...]. "Negotiation" does not mean that the two sides sit down together on a basis of equality and talk through and resolve the differences that produced the conflict between them. Two facts must be remembered. First, in negotiations it is not the relative justice of the conflicting views and objectives that determines the content of a negotiated agreement. Second, the content of a negotiated agreement is largely determined by the power capacity of each side.
Several difficult questions must be considered. What can each side do at a later date to gain its objectives if the other side fails to come to an agreement at the negotiating table? What can each side do after an agreement is reached of the other side breaks its word and uses its available forces to seize its objectives despite the agreement?
A settlement is not reached in negotiations through an assessment of the rights and wrong of the issues at stake. While those may be much discussed, the real results in negotiations come from an assessment of the absolute and relative power situations of the contending groups. What can the democrats [read the United Kingdom] do to ensure that their minimum claims cannot be defined? What can the dictators [read Lithuania] do to stay in control and neutralize the democrats [read the British]? In other words, if an agreement comes, it is more likely the result of each side estimating how the power capacities of the two sides compare, and then calculating how an open struggle might end.
End of quote, you can find this on page 19-20, early on in the book. He continues to talk about what the different parties are willing to give up, etc.
The point here is simple and that is that negotiations are off the table. Everyone is aware that there can only be for the United Kingdom one acceptable outcome, and that is our liberation, us being sovereign. We will not sell out friends and allies to get this, we will not sell out our regions to get this, we will not sell out our citizens and their freedom to fuck up as they wish to get this... and if you won't do that, then there isn't much to be discussed, and even less worth wasting our time discussing.
Unless Lithuania or the United Kingdom is changed to its core by a PTO'er, a massive fall off a pedestal, a complete change of attitude from the government, whatever, unless that happens we won't have any negotiations.
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
