Fast Track part 4

Brick turned to face the enormous lobby, allowing himself the time to take it all in. He tilted his head back and gave it a good look. The Jophel wood-carved ceiling had piqued his ever growing curiosity before, but he hadn’t had a chance to analyze what the extraordinary figures represented. Now he stood, chin in the air and studied it carefully. Some large objects looked similar to the horseless carriage that was being driven around the lobby. There were a few bird-like contraptions, long wings protruding from either side.

Slowly inclining his head back down , Brick stared at the balcony; he could see hundreds of students teeming behind its glass barrier. What appeared to be large market stalls filled the entire wall both on the upper and lower levels. Lights flashed in all different colors, signs shouted, and the atmosphere was heavy with strange, yet delicious scents. Some stalls were loaded with foods of all types: pastries, produce, drinks, and delicacies. Other ones had clothing, and some displayed items he promised himself he would definitely check out as soon as he had spare time.

Feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed, he closed his eyes. Somebody touched him on his shoulder. He whirled around, finding himself face to face with Ponov.

“I got a booklet of pages that gives us a guide to the ship”, Ponov said. “Also, I got our cards, which supposedly open the door to our room on Deck 11”.

“Are we going to use the moving stairs to get there?” Brick asked.

“That would probably work, but we don’t need the stairs, we need that guy over there”, Ponov said pointing to a Honibee.

“How’s that Bee guy going to help us”, asked Brick?

“Maybe he can fly us to the top”, suggested Ponov, “I was told he’s an Elevator”.

When they reached the Honibee, he was scratching his hands.
“Are you the elevator?” Ponov asked him.

“What?” He answered, sounding annoyed. “I help people with the Elevator, but I’m sure not the Elevator myself. Dude, be real”.

“What is the Elevator then?” Brick asked.

“The elevator is the boxroom that gets you to your floor, it elevates you to whichever deck you need”.

“Hmmm”, Ponov enquired.” How would I get back down if I wanted to?”

“You’d use the elevator for that too”, the Honibee replied.

“So, if it can get you up or”, Ponov stressed the or,” down, then why isn’t it called a descender or a bimobilator?”

“Can you two stop bothering me? Do you want to go up or not?”

“We do. Deck 11”, they answered.

He pressed a button on the wall, and a few moments later the wall opened. In front of them was a big mirror, covering the walls of the room that had opened.

“Don’t just stand there”, commanded the Honibee,” Get in”.

Brick and Ponov walked into the Elevator (bimobilator) and the Honibee pressed a button.

“When the Doors reopen on Deck 11, make sure to get out”, he said, before he left them alone.

The doors closed and the bright mirrored elevator began to move upwards.
“Weird fellow, that Beeman”, said Brick.

“Plenty of strange things on this ship, the secrets of FAST are endless”, answered Ponov.

“How do you think this works?”, Brick asked.

“I don’t know” Ponov answered “maybe they have a few trolls rolling cords up, and releasing them to make it go down”.

The doors opened, and in front of their faces was a big number 11. There was a long hallway in front of them, the doors of the rooms read 11-033 and 11-034. “Our number is 11-088, it says so on this card”, said Ponov.
They passed by many doors, a few elevators, a moving staircase, and doors that led to stairs.
All doors looked similar, the only difference being the numbers on them. They were all made out of finest Bijo oak wood, their color was burnt umber with a tinge of red. The numbers on the door were all gold, Brick wondered if it was real or painted. Each door had a slot where the cards were to be placed, and a handle, to open and close the door.

They reached their room and Ponov inserted his card into the slot. A green light turned on and the door made a slight buzzing noise. Ponov turned the handle and opened the door. They walked inside, every new feature they saw amazing them, time and again.

Their Suite (as it must be called) had two bedrooms with two twin beds in each, a walk-in closet, a large private bathroom with a tub, shower and a mirrored vanity, and a small chest of drawers. The spacious living room included a dining table (made from maple Cherry wood), chairs (covered with soft-to-the-touch, comfortable, leather), and a sofa. Each suite also had floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors leading to an expansive private veranda. They were supplied with, as they would later learn how to operate, a large flat-screen television with stereo and DVD/CD player, thermostat controlled air-conditioning, internet access, direct-dial telephone, radio, mini bar, individual safe, and 24 hour room service.

“I think I’ll take a rest”, said Brick, “I’m tired from all that journeying”.

“No problem”, said Ponov.

A few hours later, their door buzzed and in walked Pho.
“Hi guys, missed me?”

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
