Hi guys, girls and the undecided. I had thought I'd 'hung up' my journalistic boots when I stopped paying attention and actively working in either Parliament or Government. Sadly, a recent furore has occurred over the 'loyalties' of my MU and it's members. I write this article to show you my side of this rift that has appeared and also warn everyone now that there will be idiots in the comments below.

Bonkers has been an active micro-community within the UK for a long period of time. I cannot remember when exactly we formed, but I believe it was sometime in November - about 2 months after this game began. We were started with gold and companies accrued by myself, Smack and MortaIbeta .

We're now approaching a full year in e-Sim and throughout this time we have, arguably, fielded all of the UK's past - and present - Prime Ministers. During this time frame we have actively fought for the UK and it's allies.

Why? Because we wanted to. We wanted to support our members who were in power and we wanted to help the UK grow as a nation.

I myself have been PM 3 times. During which I've attacked France (still feeling the love mes amis?), helped set up Government schemes which are still running today, and generally held the UK on a steady course. Did I do this out of greed? Out of the want for power? Or for greater recognition in a digital medium of world simulation? No. I did this because I wanted to help the UK. I wanted to see it grow strong and I wanted to create an ever-lasting community within the UK itself. I can happily say that some of my goals were successful, although I can also say that many of them were not. I'm fine admitting things may not have gone to plan in the past, but what's done is done and cannot be undone.

This is all well and good you might say, but what's the current issue?

Well, now we're unaffiliated. Now, we fight for who we want, when we want. We are under no obligations to fight for the UK - we never truly have been. As a unit, we have our friends in foreign lands who we help for nothing. We also have our contacts in foreign Governments who will supply us if desperately needed. But, more often than not, we fight using our own supplies and our own finances. Does this make us mercenaries? I'd hardly think so, but I can see why you'd think this.

Apparently, not fighting for the UK and it's alliance, makes us "childish" and "pathetic". It turns a unit that once would have dropped everything it could to save it's starting nation, into a unit that no longer cares about the future of said nation. It makes us feel that everything which we worked for, everything which we have built through helping the UK in all tiers of governance was a waste of time and effort. Why should we have an obligation to fight for the UK if our current plans/viewpoint is not "what the UK wants"? What reasons are there for people to tell me that we should fight in this battle for that ally?

We are a private unit. Sure, we have people in the Government. Sure, many different CP candidates have come from our ranks. But what does this prove? That there is no one else in the UK who can run for CP? Is there nobody who is active or dedicated enough to even try?

We do not run this nation. We do not even want to.

Finally, there is this 'deal' regarding the hiring of my unit. I will say this once, and once only:

I did not ask for this.

Why should I? I feel no obligation to fight for the UK. If you wish to hire our services, so be it. That is your decision and your action. Not mine. Not my unit's.

Code is correct in his view that we have been noticeably absent and wished to come up with a way to change that. He is not a member of Bonkers whilst CP. He is a member of the United Kingdom's armed forces. He thinks for the UK and acts for the UK. So lay off him and let him do his job; as he's currently the best choice you guys have.

This concludes my side of this issue. Sure, there's more details I could add. But quite frankly, I know a large number of those who comment, or even bother to respond, won't have read most this article anyway.

If you wish for any further details or 'evidence' or what have you, feel free to look through my past articles. I'm sure you'll find something there.

For now, however, good night.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
