Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of War

- Wait isn’t it happiness?



I’m sure all of you that are familiar with the Declaration of Independence are also very familiar with the world famous phrase of “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” As you can tell, I made a rather major edit to the quote, exchanging happiness with war. The ideology behind this is to create the e-Sim version of Declaration of Independence. As many of you know, e-Sim is largely based on war, unlike the real world. But a major flaw in the system is the fact that many people do not realize why wars are waged in e-Sim. My goal in today’s article is to solve this issue. To create an “easy on the eyes” read for everyone, I have explained war in e-Sim with numbered points.

1)War is often waged to gain/retake high resource territories, like CEC.

2)War is also waged due to political strife. For example, Portugal invaded Ireland and was eyeing Great Britain viscously. Both Ireland and Great Britain are our allies and therefore, we made swift work of Portugal, giving them cause to contemplate the power of Sigma.

3)War can begin for the simple concept of having superiority and displaying aggression, though this is much less common.

4)Lastly, Civil War is of course started to overthrow the current governmental leadership. For example, some wanted to overthrow Khaled, but with sheer intimidation from Khaled, no one could muster the will to do so.

Now of course, there are a few other minor reasons, but this covers the basics of war in e-Sim. If you are interested in learning even more about the concept of war in e-Sim, please feel free to message the mighty Khaled Ibrahim himself!

In today’s U.S. government there are many secret voices of power, but here in the WHPR, we would like to divulge information on these mysterious citizens. But who to choose? That, my fellow eSim players, is up to you. We have selected a multitude of these hidden voices and will do interviews with them every article. But, it is up to you who we choose each week. Answers:
1) The DoE and West Point are both going well. West Point is about to graduate another class, and the mentor programs keeps on chugging along. There's room for improvement, but right now everything is running smoothly in the DoE.

2) I'd say West Point is more fun to deal with. Most of my role in the mentor program, once everything was set up, was prodding mentors to go send out messages. On the other hand, new players aren't always the most responsive people, so teaching West Point can sometimes feel like talking to a brick wall. But there are a few enthusiastic people who make it worthwhile.

3) I've worked with the entire cabinet, even though my primary focus has been on new players and education, and I can guarantee that I will be around for more than just 2 or 3 hours a day.

4) Personality is important. Being generally friendly can get you farther than being an arrogant dick. On the other hand, don't be so friendly and trusting that you let people walk all over you. This is a social game, and to succeed, you've got to find the right balance of friendliness and caution.

Country Spotlight: Portugal




From previous aggressor to current ally we’d like to welcome Portugal to the Sigma family! Portugal has been welcomed to Sigma as a trial member after weeks of ceasefire and peace proceedings they have left their previous aggression towards all things Sigma behind and joined us in brotherly love. We look forward to seeing Portugal on the battlefield in the future, and this time they shall be our allies instead of our enemies.



Gaming Tourney


In total we have had six entrants into the League of Legends gaming tournament. It isn’t much but by god we are going to start the round robin and if anybody wants to join in just send InternationalRanger a message. Every night from 6pm to 9pm est we shall play as many games as possible with our eSim compatriots. We will also have an early morning saturday session for those of you who work the night shift. Somebody will be setting up the teams each day and hell maybe after a few rounds of 3v3 or 2v2 we just play as a team in some unranked games.

For everyone with questions about prizes, we shall be doing the round robin games first with no consequence or entrance fee. When we begin the actual games it will be a 1 gold entrance fee per team, those teams that have already paid in the past tournament will receive free entrance (I’ll compensate the gold for yall).



Operation Malnutrition

While the Malik personally would not care if you died of hunger, his top advisers (now deceased) informed him that a malnourished population produced 100% more items than a dead population. So, Khaled decided that it would be a great thing too have a government program to feed the hungry and to keep away those pesky Western internet activists.

The Malik’s Writing Prize

Seeing as we are an accepting (and slightly overarching) goverment, we are offering prizes to the more intelligent members of our society (to entice them into revealing themselves.) This will be very similar to last month’s “Pulitzer Prize” -- but the Malik thought it best if we got rid of that Hungarian-American and instead replaced the namesake with a more intelligent person (i.e. our great leader, Khaled Ibrahim)

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.


In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.


You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).


At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
