이리퍼블릭에서 많은 외국인 친구들을 사귀면서 이 게임에 관해 들어는 보았지만 처음엔 조잡한 그래픽에 또 하나의 이리퍼 아류일거라 생각 하였습니다. (실제로 그 전에 이리퍼를 바탕으로 한 3류 게임을 몇개 추천 받아 해보곤 금방 접었었지요 )
다만 레드님께서 이 게임만큼은 뭔가 다르다며 꼭 해보길 권유하시기에 레드님에게 추천인 보너스나 드리고자 게임을 시작하게 되었습니다. 이 게임을 시작하고 첫 몇일간동안엔 이리퍼의 후광을 업은 짝퉁에 불과하다고 여겨졌지만 이리퍼 V1과 V3를 적절히 섞은 듯한 시스템에 새로이 추가된 시스템들 (예로 계약서 시스템. 직거래를 자주 하고, 이리퍼에서도 자주 돈을 빌리고 빌려주던 저에겐 무지 마음에 드는 모듈이였습니다 ) 에 서서히 매료되기 시작 하였습니다
이리퍼를 접은 시점까지도 eSK에서만 살고, eSK 국회에 1년 가까이 몸을 담았던터라 이번엔 좀 색다르게 플레이 하고자 당시 압도적으로 랭킹 1위를 하던 불가리아에서 시작하고, 처음엔 단순히 레벨업만 하여 레드님에게 보상금이나 주자던 생각은 차츰 바뀌게 되었습니다. 이리퍼보다 더욱 직관적인 시스템에, 한눈에도 쉽게 볼 수 있었던 다양한 국가 페이지 등을 보고 한번 이 게임을 제대로 해보고자 레드님에게 추천인을 도와달라는 반 협박(?)으로 10골드를 받고는 그 자금으로 무역을 시작 하였습니다.
당시엔 이심도 게임 초창기에 불과했기에 대국들은 대부분 관세가 낮은 편이였고, 그렇기에 각종 나라들을 돌아다니면서 수입/수출을 하면서 (그때까지는 strade 같은 직거래 채널이 활성화 되지 않았습니다 ) 돈을 벌기 시작하였고, 이리퍼에선 공장돌이를 했기에, 이심에서는 공장 따윈 안세우겠다!! 라는 도전 의식으로 게임을 즐기기 시작 했습니다.
그렇다보니 골드는 서서히 쌓여가고, 200골드에 가까운 돈이 모였습니다. 그 시점엔 이미 추천인이였던 레드님보다도 경험치와 랭크가 앞서갔고, 홀로 꽤나 잘 섰다고 생각 됩니다
그때엔 Sim-한국은 엘리트 파이터라는 세르비아 단체가 이끌어 가고 있었고 (당시 MU 랭킹 1위 ), 워낙 한국인 숫자가 적었기에, 레드님과 함께 한국을 되찾아 보겠다라는 거창한 포부로 많은 이리퍼 유저들을 초대하기 시작 하였습니다. 그렇면서 레드님과 몇분이 한국인으론 최초로 국회의원에 당선 되기도 하셨고, 저는 불가리아에서 좀 더 자금을 모아서 한국에 돌아가겠다고 약속을 했었죠.
다만 12월달에 현실에서 한국에 입국 하면서 갑작스럽게 이리퍼와 이심을 모두 접게 되고, 5월 말까지는 이심을 완전히 잊고 있었습니다. 그 동안에 Sim-한국에 첫 한국인 대통령이 당선되기도 하고, 많은 일이 있었더군요.
5월 말에 IRC에 잠시 들렸을때 레드님께서 급하게 #eSim 채널로 초대를 하셔서 들어갔다가 여차여차해서 다시 이심을 하게 되었는데, 돌아와보니 다시 재미가 들렸습니다 ㅎㅎ 그와 함께 7개월만에 한국에 귀환을 하게 되었네요.
결국 하고 싶었던 말은, 모두 반갑습니다. 재밌게 이심 해봅시다 ㅎㅎ

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.
Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
