So you have decided that you want to become involved in the USA politics, great! But where do you find a government job? What jobs are there? And how do you get one of these jobs? The Department of Education will cover all these questions and help any player aspiring to be the president one day. This will be a series of two articles that will cover the in-game political positions and the outside of game positions. This article will cover the in-game ones.

First off there are three in-game political positions you can hold. President, Party President, and Congress member. All three of these positions are determined by in-game elections. Elections are held on the 5th day of the month, the 15th day of the month, and the 25th day of the month respectively.



The President
The presidents in-game responsibilities are those of foreign policy mainly, the president can declare war, propose alliances, propose peace treaties, and attack regions of other countries. The president also has more responsibility outside of the game as he picks and presides over his cabinet, which will be discussed more soon. The President is the highest political office one can hold, and with that position much is demanded. A good president must be very active on the forums, IRC, and in the game to efficiently run the country.

Congress
Congress is made up of twenty congress members voted for each month. Congress members propose and vote on laws dealing with printing money, donating money(generated from taxes), Impeachment of the president, and changing taxes. Congress members also should be active on the forums, IRC, and the game since most congressional discussions and budgeting happen on the forums. However due to the nature of the game the most deserving and active players will not always get voted into congress because a large portion of the voters may not know who the active ones are. So if you don't get voted to congress try again next time.

Party President
The Party President is voted in by the members of the political party. The party president’s job is to lead their party and determine what members run for congress. Depending on the size of the party itself the elections may or may not be a big deal. The party president position really has no influence in the government besides deciding which member can run for congress.
