Next up in our basic overview of the game's modules is the political module. There are two main components of this in-game: voting and running for office.

Voting

You are able to vote starting at level 7 (200 exp points). Each time you vote, you will gain 10 exp points.

There are three election days each month:
- The 5th of each month is the election for Country President.
- The 15th of each month is the election for Party Presidents.
- The 25th of each month is the election for Congressmen.

On each of these days, a "Vote" button will show up in the "Your today's tasks" list, along with the usual "Work", "Train", and "Fight". Click this, and it will take you to the correct election page.

From there, you will see a list of candidates. You can vote for whoever you want. Note that the results of the voting aren't available immediately; they are only available after the election is over.

**IMPORTANT NOTE**You can only vote for a Party President for the party you are currently in. If you are not in any party, you can go to this page to join one.

Running for Office

Every elections needs candidates, and you can be one of these candidates. But in order to be a candidate for any office, you need to know the game mechanics behind the candidacy process, and you need to be involved in the metagame (forums, IRC).

Congressional Candidates:

You can submit your candidacy for this office on the 21st to 23rd of each month. To do this, go to the election page , and scroll to the bottom. You'll see something like this:

You don't have to add a link to a presentation, but it would be a good idea.

On the 24th, the party president will select which candidates will be the party's official candidates.

Only the top 5 largest parties (as determined by number of party members) can run candidates, and there will only be 20 congressmen each month. This also means that each party can run only 20 candidates.

It's important to have at least been getting to know your party leaders if you want to be selected as a candidate. Using the forums and IRC are great ways to do this (if you have any questions about those, check out the guides in the DoE Info Web).

You gain 50 exp points for winning a congressional election.

Party Presidential Candidates:

You can submit your candidacy on the 12th to 14th of each month. Being a candidate for this election costs two gold. You can submit your candidacy the same way you did for congressional elections (at the bottom of the election page .

The same advice about joining the forums and IRC applies here, if you want to win. The only party with an IRC channel right now is the New America First party, and their channel is #NAF

Still, getting your name known nationally and to higher-ranking members of your party gives you the best chance of winning. Another good channel to join would be #e-sim.usa

Presidential Candidates:

You can submit your candidacy from the 2nd to the 4th of each month. Being a candidate for this office costs 10 gold. You also need to be level 8 (300 exp points) minimum to be a candidate.

This is the most active elected office in the game. You will not stand a chance of winning if you are not well-known, actively writing articles, visiting the forums, and hanging out on IRC. It's also generally a good idea to try to get elected to other offices first, to gain some political experience, and to try to get experience in some of the metagame government positions (Department of Defense, Department of State, etc).

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
