Como imperador do Mali durante o século 14, Mansa Musa acumulou uma fortuna que hoje equivaleria a impressionantes US$ 400 bilhões. Grande parte desse dinheiro vinha principalmente das grandes minas de Mali, que chegaram a ser responsáveis por metade do ouro que circulava na África, na Europa e na Ásia.
Chegada ao trono
Mansa Musa ascendeu ao trono do Mali após ser nomeado vice pelo imperador anterior, que viajou em uma expedição com o objetivo de explorar o oceano Atlântico e nunca mais retornou. Musa foi nomeado como décimo imperador e liderou o Império Mali durante o seu auge econômico.
Além do ouro, a riqueza do governante vinha das construções que ele promoveu na época, principalmente de grandes mesquitas, madraças (casas de estudos islâmicos) e universidades, incluindo a Universidade de Sankore, que está em funcionamento até hoje. O imperador também controlava mais da metade de todo o sal do mundo, o que lhe dava um poder de barganha gigante na hora de negociar com os comerciantes europeus.
De acordo com os relatos históricos da época, a cidade de Tombuctu – também conhecida pela grafia em inglês, Timbuktu – era um dos locais com a melhor qualidade de vida do mundo e ponto de encontro para estudiosos de toda a África, que iam conhecer as universidades e bibliotecas do Império Mali.
Peregrinação para Meca
Um dos casos mais marcantes do reinado de Mansa Musa, e que ilustra bem todo o poder e a riqueza do imperador, é o de sua peregrinação para Meca. Como todo muçulmano devoto, Musa deveria visitar a cidade sagrada do islamismo pelo menos uma vez durante sua vida. Quando resolveu fazer isso, ele levou uma procissão de 60 mil pessoas como companhia.
Uma das funções de toda essa gente era carregar as mais de 5 toneladas de ouro que Musa ia dando para os pobres pelo caminho. Foi tanto ouro distribuído pelo imperador que o metal começou a perder valor, prejudicando a economia de todos os locais por onde ele passava, especialmente nas cidades de Cairo e Medina.
Durante a viagem de volta para Mali, Musa viu o estrago que tinha feito e tentou resolver a situação pegando ouro emprestado de comerciantes locais. Os empréstimos reduziram a quantidade do metal no mercado e restabeleceram a economia dessas cidades.
Ainda existe muita discussão sobre a morte de Mansa Musa. Tudo o que se sabe com certeza é que seu reinado terminou em 1332, embora os registros não deixem claro se ele morreu ou apenas renunciou. Nas décadas após a sua saída, guerras internas acabaram levando o Império Mali à decadência e deixando esses tempos de glória no passado.

Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
